A restaurant should not offer six varieties of eggs Benedict if the kitchen DOES NOT know how to poach eggs! I rarely post negative reviews, but these guys screwed up on too many levels to not say something.
We were seated more than ten minutes (I know this from text message time stamps) before we were even acknowledged. Our server did apologize and we told her no worries, we are not in a hurry. When we placed our beverage order, mine arrive without requested cranberry juice - just gin and club soda. When a LONG period of time went by without said cranberry juice I inquired as I thought she forgot and was told they were “looking for it”. Shortly thereafter a shot glass of cranberry juice arrived.
Three of the five of us ordered three different varieties of egg Benedict. I was sharing my order with another. The food arrived quickly however all three of the egg Benedict dishes contained one poached egg and one completely hard cooked egg. I had split my order and my egg was the hard one. 😒 It was a while before the server came back to check on our order and I requested a poached egg replacement. Approximately fifteen-twenty minutes later she told me that my poached EGGS? were on the way and I told her to forget it as everyone was almost done eating.
The server had made a comment that she had not expected it to be that busy so I don’t know if she was just not prepared or had too many tables.
When our server asked about the bill we told her to just split it in half and I was shocked when she said “You will see that I removed the poached eggs”. I could not believe they were going to charge me for an ill prepared order. I did not even eat more than two bites. If it had just been my dish, only one egg gone wrong, I would have chalked it up to a one off mistake. Since the other two people had at least one egg properly prepared, they decided not to send theirs back.
I love eggs Benedict and only order it if I’m fairly sure it’s a restaurant that knows how to prepare them properly. When you have six on your menu, one containing lobster, I’m assuming that the kitchen knows what they are doing. Very disappointing experience all...
Read moreBreakfast visits had raised my expectations for dinner -- but I was very disappointed. I ate with a large group and was very disappointed with the cocktails (bland, mostly ice), service (inattentive, slow, confused), and food. We ordered from a limited menu that included too many sandwiches for a company outing. Many of us ordered 8-oz. sirloin -- every steak was cut differently, from super thin to thicker but with lots of gristle and fat. I can't imagine why a restaurant would present such inconsistent cuts. I'm pretty sure the cook (no way would I use the word chef) had never learned how to sear a steak. The limp mushroom topping was pointless. The side salad was served in a tiny bowl that made it impossible to toss with dressing. Tablemates said the burger was good, but, then, it's difficult to screw up a burger. Service: this server seemed inexperienced and confused. Drinks took forever, and they often put the wrong drink in front of us. Food was delivered randomly, with some receiving their order 20 minutes before their tablemates. Decor: the coveted booths are adorable but the back party room seemed to be decorated by somebody's Florida grandmother who spends too much time in golfcarts and thinks fake sod on the walls is classy. Baffling. I might try breakfast again but would never recommend a large...
Read moreGot to say I was really disappointed I had heard good things about this place and it definitely didn't live up to the hype. Realy small menu in my opinion. Specifically asked about gluten-free items and whether or not the french fries were battered our waiter went and checked with the kitchen came back and said they are not gluten free so I ordered the nachos, nowhere on the menu does it say it comes with flour tortillas as the "chips" so when my food arrived I couldn't eat it thankfully they did not charge me for the nachos they also were supposed to come with corn pico but they were all out and didnt inform me and there was something on top that was supposed to be sour cream but it was super sweet and almost tasted like cream cheese frosting ended up ordering a salad with ranch dressing no croutons there were supposed to be marinated cherry tomatoes on it and they were definitely just plain tomatoes and were very grainy/old and while the ranch was decent it was a pretty unimpressive salad over all and there were also some stray French fries on my plate. There really isn't anything here if you want to eat gluten free....
