I really wanted to give this place a better review, and I'm trying to be fair. I needed a place with wifi for work and I found this place online. IT was a great place to get stuff done, it was quiet(well indoors) and spacious. The coffee was very good and the wifi blazing fast. The owner(I think) even came out to check with me to see how it was doing. Well, then a few minutes before I left a man came in with a mask. Yes, we're not required to wear them anymore, but many, including myself, sometimes still do. Some are unvaccinated, some can't be, some just want to be extra cautious. Well the worker/owner says to him, "what's with the mask?" First off, none of your business. People can wear them if they want. You don't ask, "what's with the pants?" The guy i think responded that he's simply being careful and doesnt want to risk it. Then the owner says, "well, I guess some people believe in masks." Yea, and some people believe in science. So my review basically gives 5 stars for the coffee and vibe. 1 for the idiocy, rudeness and audacity to publicly announce such ignorance and I won't give any more of my money to a place like that. Too bad, I wanted to like this place. But almost 600,000 americans have died because of such ignorance. By all means, if you don't believe in science and think wearing masks makes you a sheep, by all means go there. But for the intelligent people out there, wanted to let you know what you're supporting by going...
Read moreWent there today because I was in Marion for my son taking the ACT test at the local high school. Having a few hours to kill, I spoke to another parent who heard that this was a good coffee place.
Once she told me they were a ROASTER, I had to check into it and I was NOT DISAPPOINTED.
A nice inventory of green beans and a few which were already roasted.
I've been enjoying fresh roasted coffee for going on 40 years now, so I got into coffee LONG BEFORE anyone had heard of Starbucks outside Seattle.
I had a hankering for some peaberry and a few places I checked in Charlotte didn't carry them, but focused on flavored coffees (which I detest).
Anyway, I went there and they had a Brazilian Peaberry which I wanted to try, and so sampled, but decided on a pour-over cup of Bali Blue Moon.
The Bali coffee was very flavorful so I was happy with that choice.
I ended up buying two small sample bags (2 oz) of the Bali and Brazilian Peaberry so I could try them at home the way I usually do my coffee (a Mr. Clever pourover).
Looking forward to it.
I just wish they had more sample sizes (maybe 4-8 oz.) and offered whole bean.
I am coming back to Marion in two weeks and will probably visit again to see what they have and perhaps stock up a bit more.
It is also a nice place to just sit back, chill, and have coffee. And the lady at the counter did a great job answering questions and...
Read moreI went with a group of friends with my school on our way home to GA, and I happened to have no money to buy anything. I didn't mind, and I was already having so much fun with the girl at the counter! I was standing near the counter and out of nowhere the girl asked me if I wanted a drink and I said I was ok because again, no money, but she still insisted and gave me something so kind. When I say I cried, I mean it like I still cannot stop crying every time I remember their faces when they gave it to me so if they see this (red haired lady and split dye guy, due to a lack of names) thank you so much, I will never forget that, you guys are some fo the kindest people I've gotten the opportunity to experience, you made my entire school year, which might even be an understatement. I haven't stopped thinking about the smiles they had, and I will never forget that, so thank...
