This cafe has the potential to be great! A few things that caused me to rate low. First, I came in for lunch and was very disappointed to see there were no soup/salad/sandwich combo options. In addition, there are no small salads to add to either soup or sandwich. The only option is a full serving of each - too much food and a $20 ticket for turkey sandwich and soup.
Secondly, there were no nutritional or details of ingredients available for the sides. The potato salad has bacon in it and I don’t eat pork. This was disappointing and concerning when I bit into what I thought was red potato salad to find bacon was the red. I would haves like to have a leafy green option as a side.
The holiday turkey sandwich comes on a croissant and I request it on wheat bread toasted or grilled. The bread was very good but the rest of the sandwich was cold. I guess I was expecting the grilled sandwich to be warm. The flavor was good, not sure it was worth the price.
Finally, the wild rice soup was fair. It was a cream base with carrots, mushrooms, and celery. I’m not sure if the meat was turkey or dark meat chicken, but the texture was between mush and spongy. It did not have a meat texture.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and would come back for coffee and morning treats in the future. Lunch did not hit the...
Read moreThis place's pecan sticky rolls are SO good, however, they are a bit underbaked and end up being doughy. 2 more minutes in the oven and they would be perfect. I have told them this before and they thanked me for telling them, and told me repeatedly that they appreciated my feedback and wanted to correct that, but I have been back several times since and they have not changed their ways, the pecan rolls are still doughy. It's a real shame because the flavor is excellent and I would buy one much more often if they corrected this problem. Their lattes are not great. Once I went in just wanting a sandwich, but they said that was not possible without buying the entire lunch box (includes a bag of chips and a side salad). I didn't want all that, so instead took one of the breakfast sandwiches wrapped in foil under the heat lamp. Granted, it was lunchtime, but I think that sandwich had been sitting there since first thing in the morning. The biscuit was like a rock. I ended up throwing it away. (Maybe don't get breakfast sandwiches in the afternoon). All that being said, their lemon bars are incredible, and the cherry bars are good too. The cinnamon rolls are cooked perfectly, but would be KILLER with cream cheese frosting. And the staff is always friendly...
Read moreThis was our first visit into The Eat Shop. It is safe to say it will not be our last. My mom use to say desert first. I agree for this place. I got 3 of the Cherry bars. I had trouble stopping at just one as I wanted to take one home for the kid my husband had his afterwards and it was decadent.
I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything complimented each other. It was fabulous.
My husband had a very cherry ham and cheese. He was very pleased. He said the flavor combination melt and blend together perfectly.
Loves this place but glad we don't live closer. I can feel the pounds adding just looking at all these delicious treats.
It's a small menu which is so refreshing. I'd much rather someone have a small menu and do what they do great then have to...
