Wow!! We're from VA & have some delish BBQ on the East Coast but this place...BEST YET!! Fried ribs!! Never heard of them & wow I'll be drooling over the memory for days! Delish BBQ sausage! Homemade southern sides: cabbage, potato salad, coleslaw, black-eyed peas!! Water boiled cornbread! All so so so good!! You get alot of food for the price. If you're not in the mood for a meal try the sloppy joe sandwich! This is NOT the Hunt's sloppy joe we grew up with, this is chopped rib meat! YUMMY!! The deviled eggs were real sweet, but not sickeningly so, and just had good flavors of mustard and relish. The ribs & brisket were tender & the mild sauce is tangy & just a little sweet. The chicken just fell off the bone. The greens were not salty enough to my taste, but like everything else, the natural flavors came through well. Read moreBest BBQ in 30 plus years!! My husband and I are traveling from Michigan to Galveston and Marshall was our lunch stop. We are from Houston but have lived in Michigan for far too long. We each had 2 meats (1) beef and links (2) beef and sausage. Sides, potato salad. Brisket was melt in your mouth amazing. Links and sausage had a snap to them with the links being a tad spicer. Potato salad was delicious with sweet pickles. The beans were wonderful…beans, bell pepper and a little ground beef. The gentleman running the BE were warm, friend and fun to talk too.
