Mike's Place — Restaurant in Marshall

Went there for lunch on 8/4 at 1pm with my girlfriend was there about 40 min. The food was very good. I was sitting in a spot where I could watch our food and everyone else's food being cooked. I watched as the cook touched raw burger and bacon without a glove and proceeded to not wash his hands. He also went to the bathroom came back and hadn't washed his hands. While the cook was in the bathroom the server put burgers on the grill also no glove and did the same thing wiping raw meat juice on his shirt. The whole time I was there not one person working washed their hands once. Im a cook im serve safe certified and this is unacceptable. Health department would have a fit and it took everything in me to not ask them to wash their hands. 4 stars if the food would have been handled properly. Always a good place to grab a beer, will not be coming back for food...

Honestly not please with my overall experience. We’re from out of town, wanted to grab some food before heading home.. went in sat at a booth took a while to be greeted, once we finally were, our server (blonde lady) was very rude and being short. After she grabbed our drinks we were rushed to order (close to kitchen closing, totally understandable. The way she went about it was not) then after ringing our food in she never came back. Cook/bartender brought out our food and was apparently taking over for her but we were never informed that. We were not checked on after our food came out, had to go up to the bar to ask for things we needed. It wasn’t until our stuff was stacked at the end of the table that were spoken to again. Food was great but service was enough for us to never return...

Really like this place. Stumbled over for the first time a couple years ago after being at Stagecoach which closed earlier than Mike's did. This last time we went to Mike's only (stagecoach closed). The patrons are an awesome mix of ages and types which I love. The last time we came, there was a guy who had just left and he was just playing his harmonica while walking down the street. The music is just as varied! I really dig it. The drinks were good and service attentive. They have a pool table and TVs on of course. Not sure on food. Only think they are lacking is a...
