I was graciously given a $50 gift certificate to use at Vics . Since I had never been there before I was so much looking forward to having a meal there. today is the 4th of July and I went in with my granddaughter to have a meal the guy at the front door told us to leave the gift certificate on the counter and then he went and seated us out in the patio area .We ordered pancakes and nothing else when the order came there was two Pancakes on the plate with one strawberry and a couple of blueberries on it however we did have to ask for the syrup because it was not given to us with the order. when it was time to leave the waitress came and handed me a bill so I looked at it and the bill was for $21 I told her that I wasn't complaining but that we had had a $50 gift certificate and so I wasn't understanding how we owed another $21 on top of that .She was not very pleasant but she went to check and she came back and gave me the remainder that was left on the gift certificate I did leave her a tip because I don't roll any other way but unfortunately for me I was very disappointed in the way that my granddaughter and I were treated and I'm probably not going to go back there. The pancakes were okay but you needed a knife to cut them and they weren't that good. unfortunately the picture looked a lot better than the actual pancakes did. aside from that you have to take a picture of something that's on the table and then look at the menu a lot of us senior citizens don't have cell phones and don't know how to do that but we were not given a menu or a choice . maybe it's the covid-19. but I felt very disrespected there I felt like I was not welcome and it wasn't a very good feeling for me. There was another waitress who happen to be out in front as we were leaving and she was very kind and friendly and even offered to take a picture for us which I thought was really nice. Had she been my waitress I think that we would have gotten treated a little bit better and perhaps I would think about coming back. I had heard many great things about this restaurant so I was eager to try it unfortunately I won't be...
Read more5 min wait confirmed, drink order placed within 1 minute of sitting down, placed food order within 1 minute of drink order which is outstanding. I tried the #The Waffle Sandwich which has been reviewed several times on Yelp. At first I was skeptical, however the mixture of flavors were great. Most things taste amazing with butter and syrup so do not spread the butter over everything and drench it in syrup the first time you try it but take your first bite without the butter and syrup. With my first bite I realized that the intricate mixes of waffle, gravy, easy egg, and cheddar compliment each other very well. I take another bite but this time I only add the butter and it becomes a bit saltier. Now I add the syrup and the dish is now realized as it should be, comfort food at it's best. I ordered taters as my side supposing it was a potatoe cake or something of the like, it was tater tots which was an unexpected suprize. I received my meal in less than 20 minutes from ordering and considering how busy this establishment was that is stellar. My only criticisms are the water and the gravy. The water needs to be filtered, nowadays most establishments offer bottled water for a fee but how difficult is it to install a filter. The smell alone made me stop drinking the water and I drank coffee for the entire meal. Last but most important was the gravy, it was overpowered by the sausage flavor and was hard to distinguish the gravy from the sausage in any bite. These two items dropped the review from 5 to 4 stars but don't let that deter you from going to Vic's. I rarely publish a review and the few reviews I publish are for places that are great, and places that are disgusting. Vic's is great and I look forward to trying other items on the menu in the...
Read moreWent for brunch on Sunday Feb 12 with some gal pals. We walked up to the back patio and the hostess who saw us immediately led us to our table. The atmosphere was nice, menu seemed reasonable. We all ordered our food and received most things as expected although slow.
When it was time for the bill we noticed that every single item had a $2 upcharge. We ordered 5 dishes so that's a $10 upcharge. I asked the server as to the upcharge and she stated it's due to the egg shortage. Every dish had a $2 top up. She stated there was a sign on the way in somewhere on a door/wall. We told her we never saw it and said it would make sense to add a note at each table. The server sent over who we assume is the shift manager. The lady came over and proceeded to state that there is a sign on our way in but sometimes it falls down due to the breeze. We said the simpler solution was to add a note to the table and to let the guests know when you are taking the order. Her reply to us floored us. She said she can't spend all day telling each client about this $2 charge. SERIOUSLY!! That is exactly what your job is. Additionally your responsibility is full and appropriate disclosure of what you are charging. Insufficient and ambiguous disclosure = FRAUD.
I or my friends will never visit this place and make sure not to recommend it. Please see receipt and menu pics and note nowhere on the menu nor anywhere else on the table (would cost pennies to do) was there a disclosure of this charge. Apparently, we are all to look at the walls of these establishments as we walk in for key messages. Don't go on a windy day or you will miss the message!
Ps- They also precharged what I assume is a credit card fee(cc fee) prior to printing the bill so we could consider...
