Pricey, but delicious, with unique offerings. If you are looking for a unique beverage, coffee or otherwise, this is a delicious and small local coffeehouse with quite a few offerings, including fresh shakes (very thin), sandwiches, pastries, and various coffee drinks with flavors like rose and lavender honey. The items are a little pricey compared to similar offerings from chains like Starbucks, but the portions are good and the taste makes it definitely worth the cost, in my opinion. Seating is limited with COVID-19 regulations, with two tables available outside. The area is pretty nice though, and it is worth walking around while drinking your coffee. The area is near the courthouse and municipale buildings, and I do feel pretty safe in this area. Please note: I only visited the coffee bar portion and not the cocktail bar, though it seems just as nice.

Decently cute Portlandish coffee shop, with actually good coffee, mid food, marred by a few issues with service and the vibe. First, no greeting or kindness. After ordering, I realized that none of the tables were being cleared or cleaned. Dirty tables kill the vibe, so I picked a less convenient spot to sit. There was no WiFi too, but no biggie. Then, a homeless dude who was chilling inside for a while grabs the largest 6 person table and starts rambling threats. I appreciate the staff showing kindness in the rain, but they don’t need to let someone cause a disturbance and occupy your cafe’s largest table. (To top it off, the homeless guy later steals from the shop.) When leaving, there’s no thank you, come back, or appreciation. Also, please put prices on the food menu?!

place is a little pricey but it is honestly worth it. i was having a rough wednesday morning and i hadn’t eaten breakfast so i stopped by this place. I had the avocado toast and the chocolate mocha and let me tell you! the chocolate mocha was perfect! the chocolate and mocha go very well together and no flavor overpowers the other. the avocado toast was absolutely delicious, i felt very happy after eating it and that was because i realized that i was eating a very well crafted breakfast. i’ve been struggling with my mental health lately and i havent had the best days but this really made my morning a lot better. thank you barrelista coffee house! p.s customer service was amazing! give this place a go it’s worth every penny

Your response is dismissive of the actual problem with your establishment. Other reviewers mention this same issue dating back at least one year. First of all it is your employees responsibility to ask a customer if they are dining in, or taking items to go. Even so this does not excuse the the utilization of single use plastics when so many alternatives exist. Second it was completely clear that waste is just your default mode of operation. There were only single use plastic cups available near your water dispenser. Additionally, every other customer in your establishment had the same plastic containers with their food. Most of your food items could easily be wrapped in compostable paper, reusable cups should be available for coffee, and water. After your response I will not be back. Do better I used to love coming here for a panini and coffee. However, on my last visit everything was served in single use plastic, despite eating in. Plastic cup for cold coffee, plastic lid on hot coffee, plastic cup for water. Panini served in plastic container with a lid. They used to use plates, and mugs when eating in. The sheer amount of waste is unexpected, and...

Food was so good, holy crap. I look forward to coming back for the Felicia wakin bacon panini (in the photo, it's actually on sour dough because they ran out of panini bread but may I say, it was so good. The quality of bread that sour dough was. Egg fried hard with crispy edges, the sauce had a small spicy kick, there was a perfect amount of Cheddar cheese that was completely melted like a proper sandwich with melted cheese aught to be. Freaking delicious. Oh yes, another star of the freaking show was the Avocado toast on multi grain bread (because they ran out of sour dough, probably from making it the two wakin bacons lol) anyway, it was loaded, perfectly just uber yummy with freshness, care and felt so good to consume. They were both so good. Seriously, it's one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Truly incredible in taking you for a wonderful mouth journey of texture and flavor. Do yourself a flavor and stop by here already....

This used to be my favorite spot in Martinez. I met my wife here. Over the years the service has gone downhill. They remodeled it to accommodate for more traffic, but it ruined the atmosphere. Prices keep going up. I often like to order ahead for a quick pick up. 80% of the time they “ miss my order” or claim the “order just came in”. Today I ordered at 8:02 and finally got my food at 8:42. It wasn’t busy when I arrived. I don’t care how good the food is, I’m never supporting this business again.

Edit: I reached out to Barrelista on instagram back in February and they were unresponsive.

I finally decided to post this review after countless occasions of my order ahead not being worked on until I actually show up. If this was a singular occurrence - fine everyone makes mistakes - but this systemic.

Don’t offer the ability to order ahead if you...
