New Star Viet Bistro- Vietnamese Restaurant & Boba Tea — Restaurant in Martinsburg

I have to come back at least one more time before my final review. Otherwise I was not very impressed with the spring rolls or the seafood pho. There was quite a lack of flavor for the spring rolls since the peanut sauce was not bold enough. It lacked the rustic taste of peanuts that I look for when eating spring rolls. The pho had pros and cons, the shrimp and the calamari where cooked perfectly however the broth was what I did not fall in love with which is a core to pho. Ill be back however.

Edit: As promised I came back to try it again, but something different. I was pleased with the shrimp tempura but not as much with the red chili sauce, it was lacking something that makes it stand above the shrimp tempura the rich bold taste, otherwise it was really good. The chicken pho was good, my only issue is I feel as if there are hardly any noodles within the broth in itself. I will say that the broth was good, but I believe that it could be better with a richer flavor, as if something is missing. The chicken and everything was good.

My husband and I were looking to try a new spot closer to home. Typically for pho we would usually have to venture into Maryland or Virginia. I was excited to find a place closer to home and they did not disappoint! The pho broth was flavorful and better than some of the spots I have tried in the DMV area. Some spots barely give you any meat or the broth itself is bland. New Star is doing it right! The bahn mi was excellent as well. The bread was just right and the portions of fillings was balanced and tasty. Hands down a great spot to check out! I highly reccomend it. On top of the great food the service was excellent. We went around lunch time. Our server, Destiny was very friendly and attentive. It was nice to have great service and great food. I will definitely be coming back. I want you to know this was the worst experience i have had in a restaurant in martinsburg. The restaurant was not busy only about 3 other tables besides us. The bobba was ok. We waited over 45 minutes for our appetizer and main course. During this time we received no update until right before we left. The server forgot to place our order, then came to the table to tell us our food was being prepared and then went and placed the order. At this point it was almost an hour and we decided to leave at which point the server told the manager they had messed up the order and asked if we wanted to wait any longer for our food which we decided it was best to leave the establishment. They then proceeded to charge us for the 2 bobba we had which we didnt even finish! And then they couldnt figure out how to charge us! We will never be back,...
