My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday and we brought our family of 7 to Ace's Run. I had been to Ace's run before but its been years and years since the last time we were there!
I have to say, the experience from start to finish was absolutely perfect! . Located right on the lake with beautiful views of Deep Creek and accessible by boat or quick access by car also, this restaurant not only offers a warm and inviting ambiance but also a great menu with a variety of options.
Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly staff members who promptly seated our family. The restaurant's cozy and rustic interior added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The lighting was just right, not too dim nor too bright, making it a perfect spot for an intimate dinner or a fun gathering with friends.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the Pasta! The menu boasted an impressive selection of of options, but We had the luck of scheduling our dinner on Pasta Night, OMG, this is the best thing EVER. Its literally a make your own Pasta buffet, except they make it for you :)
Its a great night with kids as they get to pick out everything from pasta type, sauces, additions, meat choice, etc! and they make it right in front of you!
Everyone was happy and even went back for a 2nd round.
What impressed me the most was the variety of ingredients to choose from. Each topping tasted incredibly fresh, and you could tell that the kitchen takes great care in sourcing their produce.
Aside from the Pasta, they also offer a selection of tasty sides and salads. Of course their fresh, warm and buttery garlic bread and focaccia is the perfect side to any pasta.
The service throughout my visit was impeccable. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready to help with any special requests. Additionally, the restaurant's owner, Brenda, came to our table to check on our experience, which added a personal touch to the meal.
In conclusion, Ace's Run was the perfect pick for our family celebration! The timing of service and delivery of food was perfect for small kids who are less patient to our 15 year old who is ready to eat anything and everything! We will definitely be returning soon to explore more...
Read moreWe decided to come out to this establishment due to the high rating and the long wait at the other restaurant located right next door. We were seated right away as the restaurant was not crowded. The experience went from okay to bad. We came with six adults and two children. We got the cheese curd app which was swimming in grease. No bread was initially provided but when we asked the waiter informed that it was free and no need to order it, and brought it after the fact. The bread was very good. Two of us got the half chicken meal, one got Sheppard pie, one got mushroom ravioli, I got the steak special based on recommendation of the waiter. The steak special came with two sides as well as a soup or salad. I was never given the opportunity to order a choice of soup or salad and when I did ask if it could just be packed to go the waiter said yes however never asked which I wanted and it never came anyway. I ate one bite of the steak and it was about cafeteria quality and very over seasoned. The chicken dish was sour and the Sheppard pie boasted 80% mashed potatoes and dry beef. The mushroom ravioli was a hit. When the waiter was informed of the food quality he offered to give us a free crème brûlée, which I declined. At no point was an alternative provided or a comp offered, I should all point out that drinks were never refilled throughout the meal. I understand that food quality is not the servers fault, however, the service was lackluster at best. Two people in the party actually got sick and one did end up vomiting as soon as we arrived back home. The bill came to $197 which is a great price for an upscale restaurant for that many diners if the experience had been even remotely enjoyable I would have had no issue with that part. I have never left an establishment without tipping, but I was sorely pressed to tip around 11% because I’m not completely heartless. Overall a big miss on the last night of a family vacation that would have been otherwise full of...
Read moreWe had dinner here Wednesday, Jan 1 at around 4pm. This place is easy to find, located along the main road. Parking was fine. When we went in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. The various areas were decorated for Christmas and everything was warm and beautiful. Our table was in the corner with views of the lake, so pretty. The young Lady who was our server, was friendly, nice, informative and prompt, she did very well. We had ice waters that she kept filled without being asked. Our drinks were delicious, made just right. Our appetizers were the cheese curds and dip and crab dip with house made chips..both were very good, everyone enjoyed them. The cheese curds were very light and tasty. I got a Chesapeake pasta dish that came with a side salad. It was creamy, seasoned well with chicken and pieces of Bacon, tasty. It came with 2 small crab cakes on the side. Salad was crisp and fresh. We also had a crab cake dish that was enjoyed. My daughter and her boyfriend had the Filet Mignon with whipped potatoes, scallops and glazed carrots. I tasted each of her items. I have never had scallops, but I found theirs very tasty, crisp on the outside with seasoning and tender on the inside. The carrots were flavorful and the potatoes were creamy. The steak, ordered medium rare was firm on the outside and peculiarly soft on the inside, a different kind of texture than I'm used to, but seasoned well and cooked as ordered. My daughter and her boyfriend have eaten here multiple times, its one of their favorite places and they order the steak regularly, so they really enjoy it. Overall, it is somewhat expensive, the food is slightly above average generally speaking (really nice presentation by the way), the service was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere/environment was fabulous. Nice little orange candies...
