Almost 2 years ago i left this place a 5 star review and now I’m updating that to 3 stars. For the last 2 years iv been coming here and more recently it’s gone downhill. Starting off with the mix inside the pupusas locas, initially these things were packed with cheese and flavor - now I think they have taken a page from Chipotle’s book. These things are thin and tasteless. It wasn’t one time, two times or even three times this has happened. Sometimes it would go back to normal and my wife and I would joke around and say “I hope the person who makes them great is in today” the last 4 times we ordered have been sad to say the least. Oddly enough my original review below names chipotle too. I’m going to have to stop coming here, a shame really.

Recently moved to Laurel and have been coming here quite a good number of times. The Pupusas locas are to die for. My wife and I had been looking for a place to get some good pupusas and boy did this place blow our expectations out of the water! Great size with plenty of amazing even filling. Yesterday we tried the Putacos and we’re blown again. Pupusa tacos?!!! Whaaat! Amazing it’s like the chipotle quesadilla burrito except it’s a pupusa used as a taco tortilla with taco ingredients on it. There’s a $5 min purchase to use your card so make sure you get a drink with your meal otherwise you’ll be out of luck like I was searching for a drink at a different establishment. Iv owned many businesses and the fee processing shouldn’t be a reason to turn away a client that doesn’t have something that ads up to $5. Regardless it is posted thus why no star is removed. I blindly put the orange sauce all over my taco papusas and now my mouth is screaming.

I came here craving tamales and also ordered the steak taco papusas.

The tamales were alright. But I was looking for more of a SoCal Mexican tamale and these were not it. They're small sweet corn tamales with Salvadoran sour cream on the side and they do make for a good appetizer. But definitely not a savory meal and that's okay.

The taco papusas were molten hot and delicious. I'm stuffed. The first one I had I poured the green salsa and lime over, but I couldn't pick it up, so I dug in with a fork. It was great.

The second one however... Without tasting the orange sauce, I dumped it all over and took a bite. It's not an intense flavor, but boy oh boy does it burn. I almost wasted my horchata trying to cool my mouth off to eat. 10/10 would burn again.

The cashier definitely didn't speak English well. And I don't speak Spanish well. Possibly in the future, I'll order online to make it less confusing for everyone involved. Regardless we managed to get my order in which was clearly displayed on the screen. It worked out. It did not help that I kept changing my mind on items halfway through.

WITH THAT BEING SAID I ORDERED A VEGGIE QUESADILLA, BUT THE CLOVER APP TRANSFERRED THE ORDER TO THE 🥑 AND CHICKEN QUESADILLA. I TOOK THE ORDER ANYWAYS THINKING THAT I MADE A MISTAKE SO I DIDN'T WANT TO COMPLAIN AND SO I JUST TOOK THE CHICKEN OUT... LATER ON I SAW THE RECEIPT AND SAW THAT I ACTUALLY DID ORDER THE VEGGIE QUESADILLA...

I CALLED THE RESTAURANT AND FLIPPED OUT AND WAS YELLING AT ELSA WHO HAD TO HAVE BEEN BITING HER TOUNGE BECAUSE I ADMIT I WAS TOOK IT OUT ON HER. BUT ELSA DID NOT LET MY ANGER TRIGGER HER. INSTEAD SHE GOT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ISSUE; SENT ME A NUMBER WHERE SHE SENT A SCREENSHOTS OF WHERE SHE WAS ABLE TO VALIDATE THAT THE ORDER ACTUALLY CAME OUT AS AVOCADO AND VEGGIE.. I ALSO SENT ELSA A SCREENSHOT TO PROVE THAT I ORDERED THE VEGGIE QUESADILLA. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT HER NOR THE RESTAURANT'S FAULT THEY ACTUALLY MADE ME A DELICIOUS 😋 VEGGIE QUESADILLA FREE OF CHARGE.
