We stumbled upon this place while vacationing in OC. We were looking for breakfast options thru DoorDash and saw this place and it had amazing lineup of food offers and pricing was great! We received our order in a timely manner and (the real kicker) it was still HOT! The sausage gravy was SPOT ON!

Fast forward 2 days later. We decided to try it again (for lunch) when we were going to Assateague Island before heading back home. I am so glad we did!!!!! We got there Thursday around 2pm. (Working in the restaurant business for 38 years, I know its the perfect time to go. You miss breakfast/dinner crowd). We were greeted by the bartender with a friendly hello and was told she would be right with us. Within seconds, she had us sat. (There was 7 of us). The menu had many options to choose from AND the pricing was great!!!! (Considering we just spent a week spending over $200 for each meal we had in OC). It turned out that the bartender was also our server. They were short staffed that day so she had to run both. She did a AMAZING job!!!! Very friendly!! Very chatty!! And made us all feel very comfortable! (I wish I would of paid attention when she told us her name! I do know she said she was a school teacher). We did NOT wait long for food and everything we got was great! My only complaint is I got the hot turkey sandwich and the gravy was too thick and very salty. Besides that... everything spot on! (Crab dip?? Our favorite!).

I will leave you with this. In all our years of vacationing in OC, there are VERY few places we say "OMG, we NEED to go back!". This place is now added to the list! We will see you all next summer!! Keep up the great work! And 🫶 to...

Drove down the strip looking for somewhere to sit and have a nice meal. Prices were either $50+ per dish or there was over an hour wait. We're here during the slow season before the vacationers show up, so most places are still closed for a couple weeks. The ones that are open are with limited staff. After not finding any luck on the strip we ventured off to Assateague Bar &Grill. It shares a parking lot with a gas station and the restaurant was empty. Not looking good so far. Sign inside the restaurant said to see the bartender for seating. We opted to sit at a bar table so we don't get forgotten about and weren't dining in an empty room. Everything turned around from here. The bartender was super friendly and attentive, and the service was quick and delicious. My girlfriend got the meatloaf and I got a crab cake sandwich. The sandwich was really good. She offered for me to try her meatloaf, and normally I wouldn't because I don't care for it, but this one looked great. I took a bite and it was fantastic. Much better than any other meatloaf I've had. We finished with Galub Jamun for dessert because I like to try new things and it was delightful as well. Once we sat and got settled, everything was great. Our only minor remark would be that the music was very loud in the bar area.

If the restaurant isn't busy, take a cue from us and eat in the bar. Will definitely return back if we're...

Arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was empty, but the bar was hoppin apparently due to happy hour 2-5pm.

There was no host or servers, bartender was doing 3 jobs. I'm assuming they don't get much restaurant activity in the off season. We were served fairly quickly and kitchen was fast; I think there was only 1 guys back there.

Order included: pickle chips, cheesesteak egg rolls, nachos, and a salad with grilled chicken.

Pickle chips were some of the best I've had, obviously fresh and fairly thick slices. Not a ton of breading. Cheesesteak egg rolls left much to be desired, there was nothing cheesesteak like about it - honestly tasted like a pureed Burger King patty. Nachos were topped with a tasty chili, typical fixings. I think they make their own chips? Tasted and looked fresh to me. Salad was as expected, really tasty chicken.

I would definitely come back. Only gave service a 3 since the bartender was spread thin and we didn't get typical service. Expect a good meal, and...

This place is nothing like it looks online or on ads. It's a little place stuck on a gas station. Inside has a nice atmosphere, but the bartender for the adjacent bar next door is also the waitress, and she's way too busy to do this alone. Table next to ours left after 10+ minutes waiting to order. Food was bottom of the barrel, just OK. Fries were good. The burger, tasted like it was from the freezer section of Walmart. Kids got chicken nuggets. Crab dip was just ok We had a bland quesadilla to share and two sodas. $80. That's pretty pricey for just ok. Regret giving it a try. Probably a great bar, but not a great family restaurant.
