Atwater's Kenilworth — Restaurant in Maryland

Looking for a "work from home" change of scenery yesterday, I decided to try this place out for some coffee and breakfast. I had seen them on social media, and liked their vibe.

I ordered the Egg, Bacon, and Cheese Biscuit, and a caramel Iced Coffee (their espresso machine was down, or else I would have gotten an iced latte - no big deal).

The iced coffee was pretty good, and the biscuit was okay. I found the biscuit to be a tad crumbly, and wish I had gotten a touch more bacon on my sandwich.

But, the reason for me even writing this review is because they do not offer public wifi. I was actually very surprised by this. I have never visited a coffee shop/cafe that does not offer wifi for their guests. Even the staff behind the counter recognized how silly it was, and they profusely apologized for the inconvenience. I encouraged them to let their manager know how crazy that was, and I hope Atwater's will consider providing this to their guests.

In the meantime, it is obvious they do not want patronage from folks who work remotely, so I probably won't be back any time soon if needing to stay plugged...

My family has been a big fan of Atwater’s for a decade. We loved visiting the one no longer there in Canton, Baltimore. We have since visited the one in Kenilworth. I think the food and service is great however I wanted to point out an issue with the lack of consistency with coffee drinks. Maybe there has been a recent change but for years we’ve loved the iced lattes. The last two visits we’ve noticed a significant drop off in the quality and more specifically the strength of the lattes. We were a huge fan because of the strong quality coffee flavor you would get with the lattes. Our last two visits it looks as though you are just getting 95% milk(from an odd looking chicken stock style box) with a shot or two on top, not even mixed in. It basically tastes like semi flavored milk. It used to be a dark color that was rich and delicious. Now it seems to be a watered down milk flavor. I would advise to please take a look at this because I am sure there are many, like myself, that come for the coffee and would opt for another option if this is the new...

Super unhappy with food.

Back home, open the bag and … are you kidding me? I paid $4.95 EXTRA for a few pieces of chicken. Totally flavorless. I could buy a whole chicken breast with that.

Then the salad, I paid $13.50!!!! And it’s basically just greens.

I’ve tried this salad two times before and it was more than greens. The last photo, you can see a lot cauliflower and ginger.

This one, NOTHING and $18.45‼️ for a mediocre salad!? I’m shocked Atwater.

Not even a great restaurant charge you that much for a salad.

I’ve been a customer for awhile, I stop for a time when the “creamy cheese broccoli” soup was just water. But I came back since I believe is pretty decent food but paying that much for this? I wished would cancel the order right there when the guy told be $4.95 just for the chicken.

Once I back home, I added garbanzos to make it more like a salad . Crazy. I want my money back.
