Although the people of Waldorf would probably disagree, I am in the middle of nowhere.... especially coming from Philadelphia. However if you do find yourself in this particular area for whatever reason I can point out a particular place that you should definitely stop at for food. Sometimes when you are in small towns the best places to eat are the local dives etc... that exist in the area. And one of those places you should stop at is Babes Boys Tavern. This is your quintessential dive bar.. There is nothing fancy about it. It is obvious locals go there a lot. The bartenders know the people and the people know the bartenders. And that is okay. It is a warm and friendly place to go to. And the food was exactly what I expected. I went on to Yelp and it got four out of five stars. And certainly it lived up to that rating. I can only speak to the roast beef sandwich that was served to me and the cup of chili that I ordered. I loved them both. There are other things on the menu but I can only imagine they are just as good. So if you find yourself in the middle of Waldorf, Maryland make sure you stop by Babe's Boys Tavern. The bar tenders will make you feel comfortable and loved and appreciated and you will absolutely...
Read moreThis place left a lot to be desired as far as ambiance but I settled in, ordered some well done wings and they were perfect. After having a beer, I ordered a cosmopolitan martini. I ordered it made with Tito's vodka....later on in the evening after ordering a custom made burger that I didn't eat with fries and onion rings. I examined my 90 dollar bill and was flabbergasted by the way they do their drink pricing. I don't know what I did with the receipt but I had 4 cosmos and I was charged about 25 dollars, I was then charged an additional 30 dollars or so for getting Tito's which was charged to me as Grey Goose. I also had additional shots of vodka added to three of the cosmos for 20 something dollars. This is absolutely ridiculous. I did eat my custom made burger the next day and it was delicious hence the 3 stars. I may come back for food and a beer, but not drinks will be ordered by me. Too many other places in the area to get a reasonably priced drink that does not charge you twice for...
Read moreHidden jewel and quite the find! Surprisingly great bar and grill. Don't judge by location, locale or general appearance, you will miss out on some seriously delicious food. Amicable staff, owner (Jim) will greet customers frequently, as he is normally on site. Staff is friendly and professional. Menu has its fixed options, but specials bring an interesting and savory twist to the mainstay options. Don't expect "bar" food quality or options. Yes, they do have the usual fare, but try their burgers, cheesesteaks and chicken options. Make sure you also try their specials, you will be glad you did! Of course being a bar, the beer is always cold, good selection... varied spirits and mixed drinks. Have tried a few of the mixed drinks, and have to say that was not...
