Vocelli Pizza — Restaurant in Maryland

Original Post: Vocellis has come highly recommend to me, so I was excited to try. I've been homebound because of a recent injury and ordered delivery. The delivery took 45 minutes past the estimated time (we ordered at 6:42. It's 9pm now). So I finally called to cancel. Customer service over the rude and uncaring. Very dissappointed and unlikely to give them my business again. I don't know how their good tastes because of this experience, but I cannot ever recommended ordering delivery from them.

The owner did call after I had already cancelled and explain the situation which I greatly appreciates.

However, the situation could have been handled better. If I knew the food was never going to be delivered (for a completely valid reason) then I would have called every customer, cancelled the order, and let everyone know their refund is on the way. Maybe even offer a discount for the inconvenience. I called three times prior to cancelling to figure out the status of my order and they kept saying it was out for delivery (the delivery was never coming, but that's not the problem). They wasted valuable time by having me think that food was coming. They should have been more proactive in notifications and cancellations because I could have got food from somewhere else. Eveything closes after 9 and I went to bed hungry.

Update: I did decide to them a second chance (pick up of course, now that I'm mobile again). The pizza is alright. Nothing too special, not bad though. Those cookies though were amazing and worth 5 stars...

BUYERS BEWARE!!! Of third part deliveries….If I could add zero stars I would. I have ordered from here before and have never experienced my food being tampered with. However, today my order arrived tampered with and partially eaten. When I contacted the restaurant all they could do was apologize. I recommend they put quality controls in place such as sealing all boxes to avoid this happening as someone may get sick. This experience has reminded me that there are crazy people out here and hopefully they take action against the sick minded person who ate a chicken wing and slice of pizza and thought it was okay to still deliver it. Wife and I ordered pizza from here and we normally like it a lot because it reminds us of a pizza place we went to in California. We ordered just one large cheese and one large pepperoni and when we went to go pick it up did not realize it until we got homethat they gave us a pineapple ham and a pepperoni mushroom. I am allergic to two pineapple and my son is special needs and very picky on his food and only likes cheese pizza. I called him up and they were very apologetic and very helpful especially being at the last minute of the day before they close. They made me and my family, a fresh cheese and a fresh pepperoni.
