Chipotle in general can't be beat. This particular restaurant has all the potential, but for the moment they are trying to find themselves. They are a newly opened franchise in a development that has only existed for a little over ten years, with the majority of growth happening in the last few years and still accelerating. Because of this, both the restaurant and the patrons are learning and growing as well. Being new to the game, they are finding out when crowds tend to increase as well as when business is somewhat slow. On my last visit, it seemed the staff were suddenly overwhelmed and there was not enough freshly prepped ingredients available and a lot of the hot items were cold. The drink counter was low on supplies and cutlery, and while there was a minimal line when I first arrived, halfway through my meal it grew to fill the depth of the restaurant. I find it difficult to rate the place as low as I did here, as I've gotten top-notch product on several previous visits. However, I do notice the signs even when things are running smoothly that there are still a few growing pains that have to be tended to. This franchise is brand new, with a very modern and inviting decor, a nice sound system, and cozy outdoor seating as a bonus. Chipotle as a whole are a fine establishment, and this one in particular is fulfilling a local need that is past due. As folks discover there is finally a Chipotle in the area and they no longer need to travel to Columbia or Laurel for their Mexican fix, these fine folks at the Maple Lawn establishment are finding themselves with a lot more mouths to feed. Once they find their rhythm, I have no doubt they will do just fine and their service and quality will...
Read moreUpdated Review - 2024: Chipotle has added Oregano to their Peppers & Onions, which is super weird for Mexican food. They also lay it on very hard, & it tastes overwhelming, so all you get is Super Hot Onions & Oregano as the flavor, no matter what you ordered.
I held off re-reviewing it, thinking it was a passing fad, but it's been over a year, & still overwhelming Oregano. I skipped the peppers & onions last week, to see if the rest was OK without it, but that was my favorite part, until the Oregano debacle.
I found myself adding my own veggies from home, & at that point, what's the point of paying someone to make Rice & beans, so I can go home & cook the veg to make it edible. I can make Rice & Beans. So, I guess I'm out, til they wake up & get the Oregano out.
----------- Original Review --------------------
I like Chipotle's food for takeout.
I like the cafeteria line, where you can specify what you want, & how much you want of it. The people behind the counter are friendly & willing to listen, so I get what I want every time.
The price for the amount of food you get is reasonable, & the quality of the food is good. They are consistent, & I've always been pleased with what I got. I usually make two meals out of one to-go bowl.
It's a cafeteria line, so you're not going to get a lot of variables in the meals, but if you're in the mood for it, it's a good meal, & a good deal.
Only down side for me, is the super hot raw onions they put in their salsa. No jalapenos, just brutally hot onions. If they switched to Vidalia's, that would be heaven, & I'd eat there more often.
Strip mall parking is easy, though it is a tight squeeze on the lines for...

I cracked open my Nantucket Nectar Pineapple Orange Banana drink realizing that I had something floating in my drink so I looked at the date and noticed that it was expired (date on drink 2/9/19 Instantly I felt ill, so I went back up to the counter where I made the purchase to return the drink and let the manger know, named Christoff but he gave me a hard time I N returning my drink, he stated that it wasn’t expired. When in plain sight it showed an expiration date stamp on the product. The fact that he claimed it wasn’t an expired date was upsetting, customer service should be first. Never once state ma’am I apologize for the Inconvenience can I give you a refund or would you like another beverage. Chipotle needs more training in customer service for there Managers on how to handle customer complaints and returns on products sold.
Please if you by purchase anything check your expiration dates on drinks/ food because it might be expired. I will also reaching out to the corporate office. My experience here was not pleasant and I WILL NOT RETURN!!
The only pleasant thing with my experience is that the young lady at the Register name Karla who checked me out and also Wiped off our table because the tables were filthy, so that we had a clean place to eat. Thank you Karla!!! Great Customer Service!!! The manager needs to learn some of those skills that young lady has you go...
