I hear the food is terrific. Wanted to find out. Place had no seating left. The hostess suggested they could STACK two highchairs so a baby could sit at a high table as that was what was left! Manager overhead and came and corrected her that they aren't allowed to do that. Thank God. I called another time several weeks later to see if we could reserve a table for 4. No. She said first come first serve. I explained we were coming a distance and honestly, she gave no care in the world. That surprised me. I hope to visit one day but there are other places like the person on the phone said to me. Nice, huh?
UPDATE: Myself, daughter, grandson (baby) and another child, age 3, decided to try again to visit. This time, my daughter ran inside to see if a table for us was available. This was around 1215 pm (they open at 11 and we drove a bit to come here). The hostess said yes, my daughter asked for a high chair and a booster seat and ran out to tell me we had a table. So, we unload the kids and go inside. NOW, the waitress suddenly tells my daughter and me that all they had was a high top for 4. Babies cannot sit at a high top. My daughter a bit upset as she came inside to specifically see if what we needed was open and to not drag the kids out unnecessarily. The hostess, a blonde girl, says if we want, and she's doesn't know, we could do around to the lower level and see IF there was a table there. Um, say what? Isn't that an employee's job? My daughter excuses herself to the bathroom perturbed. I asked the hostess why would she turn right around an give a different answer when my daughter was clear as to her needs. The hostess said nothing. As I was STILL speaking to her, another employee, male, comes up to her and she turns her back on me and starts talking to that employee and totally brushes us off. Incredibly rude. No manager came over. We just took the kids back to the car and left. That hostess was rude, disrespectful and I'm sorry, not sorry, lazy. That was our third and LAST attempt to try that restaurant out. And by the way, no comment or response from any manager from reviews shows that they do not care enough to even check...
Read moreThe atmospheres is terrific.v The Water view is great. No matter where you sit, inside or utside you have a good view of the South River all around. There's a lot of outside dining tablesThere was live entertainment which was very good. It has a lively fun atmosphere. My crab cake sandwich was delicious. The ownership and management couldn't be better. They really look out for their customers. Let me explain. I was sitting at the bar and had a beer and my crab delicious moist and tasty cake Sandwich, and some of the best french fries I ever had. After I finished I and paid my tab, I was walking out of the place and had a little problem finding my way out of the place, because the surrounding outside views appear that you could exit the place from anywhere. After finding my way out they look to my car and before I start the engine this guy came out to greet me. It was the owner of manager. He asked me how I was and thought that I was probably disoriented by the heat on History hot day or then I was slightly tipsy from the alcohol. After talking to me He went back into the restaurant and came out with a cold glass of water to help me cool down and possibly to prevent me from immediately leaving. This indicates he's looking out for his customers, which is outstanding. Hi, then you recently retired liquor inspector, can tell you he did all the right things looking out for his customers and of course for his business. The menu is very good. I would consider it upscale pub fair and casual dining. There were shrimp, fish, crab cake sandwiches, variety of appetizers from steam shrimp, oysters, fried Mozilla 6, nachos, and a poster of tantalizing sandwiches and entrees. I only just appointment was this used to be a crab house and I was in the mood for steamed crabs. Other than that, if I knew it wasn't a crap house anymore and I wasn't going there for crabs I would have given this place five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. If you want good food, a fun atmosphere, beautiful water view, livre free entertainment , excellent and friendly Service and ownership it looks out for the safety of their customers, this is a place to come. I will definitely...
Read moreFrom the start it was dentin to be a bad night. We showed up on time for a reservation fora party of 15 (4 toddlers 1 infant). After waiting at the abandoned hostess stand for about 5 minutes (with plenty of employees passing us by with not even a courteous "it will be just a minute") the hostess showed up to tell us they didn't have a table for us and we would have to wait for another table to finish before we were sat....and they were just served appetizers. After some negotiations they agreed to push some tables together to give us a table...how nice for a group that made a reservation over a week ago.
Next it took over 15 minutes to get a drink order and over 45 to take the dinner order. The waitress seemed extremely bothered to have to wait on a large table. After taking our orders it was another 45 minutes before the food came out. Now for anyone with kids, what happens when you've been at a restaurant when 4 kids go without food for an hour and a half....well its not good.
When the food did arrive the kid who delivered it tossed the plates on the table, and I mean tossed, even the plates in front of the kids. He failed to tell us the kids plates were extremely hot, good thing we checked before the kiddos burned themselves.
The food was sub par at best. Most meals were cold and unappetizing. My meal was half a cold chicken breast with store bought BBQ sauce and cold French fries. Not at all with $15.00. My wife had some chicken bowl that was almost inedible. The waitress never checked in to see how we were or we would have told them.
And to boot, the playground...which was why we went there with 4 toddlers, was closed because it was flooded with, as the manager put it, raw sewage. DISGUSTING!! I hope they replace the sand afterward but with how everything else went I doubt they will.
The restaurant seemed more interested in serving mass amounts of alcoholic drinks to patrons on the deck then serving food in the restaurant.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone at all. Very over priced, unfriendly service, cold food, not worth it. Save yourself the headache go to 7-11 it...
