Hibachi Express Japanese Grill — Restaurant in Edgewater

The exact idea of extremely good well-made food and great prices…I actually WISH most of the meals were priced a dollar or two higher just for the sake of how good it truly is although, business is business! I know a good place alike to this that is already in business in downtown, otherwise I would hope they were in downtown themselves, yet the location itself is already and beautiful! No MSG as well…Best asian food spot ive been to in my life and I will continue to eat there all the time. Ive seen reviews saying the food is “oily”… that is not correct at all. Its hard to believe how good this place is when I truly take a moment in regards that its always the same people working everyday, day in and day out, hardly and thoroughly. The staff is always extremely focused and always keeps a good attitude regarding how hard the work must be at times, and the restaurant is always extremely clean, particularly the bathrooms are VERY clean with great running high pressure hot/cold water. The wait is never longer than 8 minutes surprisingly, and I truly wish this place were more busy although its new. I am there all the time during lunch hours and I love getting the chicken bento box mainly. I wouldnt want to spend my money anywhere else really at this point if im going to eat out, unless your considering premade grocery store food or frozen food. Ok place, reasonable prices. The staff was nice. The food was so-so. We ordered the Hitachi shrimp, beef, and salmon with fried rice. The salmon had no flavor. The fried rice was oily. We also purchased a Cherry Blossom roll and a salmon poke bowl. The Cherry Blossom roll lacked flavor, as did the poke bowl. All the ingredients were fresh, and nothing was bad, but just not as good as Tai Chi bubble tea or Nova. The prices were lower, so we didn't really expect the quality to be the same. The spicy mayo sauce was mild, which was good since I had wanted them not to put any on the poke bowl. They didn't seem to have a way to get the poke bowl without the spicy mayo. We ate there. First and last time ordering from here. We asked if they would substitute a different classic roll in place of the California roll in the bento box, since we don't eat fake crab and they're all the same price, and they said they couldn't. I ordered the beef with noodles. The noodles tasted like burnt oil and the beef was like chewing an inner tube. It was completely inedible. My wife ordered the beef, chicken and shrimp with rice. Again, the beef was like rubber, the shrimp was cooked to death and the chicken was so salty she couldn't eat it. The rice was soaked in oil and the vegetables were a limp soggy mess. The chicken dumplings were disgusting. The crab rangoon was the only half way decent thing but 3 in an order is weird.
