I've been to many Dunkin's, but I haven't had an experience as negative as I had one today.
As we all know, it's becoming increasingly difficult to use the Dunkin rewards system not only over the cost of the coffees themselves, but how Dunkin has changed how many points you earn per transaction. Of course, this has nothing to do with this location, but it has added to my frustration of this experience. I had enough points to redeem a drink, so I selected that on the app and had them scan the QR code before giving them my card.
The code scans, and they take my card and was told the charge was double than what was showing on the screen -- while it's being swiped at that. I asked her twice if that was the charge, assuming at first she may have misread it or something, but no, that wasn't the case. I was overcharged as the person in front of me in the drive thru wasn't charged, so I ended up footing their bill on my credit card. Once she realized this, instead of reversing the charge, they gave me cash, which is fine, but typically most places would had cancelled it.
I ask for clarity if my drink cost was taken off at least as my points were suppose to cover it. They said "You have to give us the QR code to scan before paying." Huh? What did you just scan before taking my card? I drop it as I just want to go at this point and at least I still have points for a future purchase.
To add insult to injury, once we pull off, I find my drink wasn't made correctly and the reward was redeemed! So at this point - I have been overcharged, I have been told my reward wasn't scanned, I was given the incorrect amount of cash, my drink was not made correctly, AND I lost my reward. How a single coffee order and a donut caused so much confusion is beyond me.
I had to run some timely errands and ended up just calling them explaining that not only was my drink incorrect, but I was also still overcharged and my reward was redeemed. They offered to give me money back and a new drink, which is quite literally the bare minimum to be given in this situation considering all the trouble this has caused me as a customer. I ended up getting an overall cheaper and less complicated drink given how terrible the first one was. The cash given back to me still isn't correct, but I can't fault the poor guy who probably had no idea this happened since the staff that caused this wasn't present by the time I returned.
Regardless, I know better to never come back to this Dunkin. I have a lot of empathy for service workers as they're often underpaid and overworked, and I would had totally understand more if this place was super busy when we came in, but it was just us and 1 other car in the drive thru. No one inside. I really don't know how to excuse what happened. This has been a frustrating experience, and now I know to not return to this location, especially when...
Read moreLiterally the worst Dunkin I’ve been to. I order a nitro cold brew that is only available at locations that offer On Tap coffee. Sharpsburg pike and Garland Groh are the 2 locations I go to get this drink. It only comes in a small and is $4.34 a cup. When I go to the Dunkin on garland I get a FULL cup and I watch them make it. My fiancé went to get this cup at Sharpsburg pike for me tonight, when they handed him the cup he asked them if it was right because it was less than half full. They told him “yeah it’s right It’s because of the cold foam.” I immediately called them before he even made it home when I saw this picture he sent me. When I told the woman on the phone what happened she insisted it was right and that the one on garland must not be giving me cold brew. When I informed her that I WATCH them give me the ON TAP nitro and I’ve never been given a Quarter cup of coffee at that location she had nothing to say. Had the nerve to tell me to bring it back. Please tell me why I would ever want to go back to a location that is literally ripping me off. This is the second time I’ve gotten a cup of coffee like this from that location. I’ll continue to go to the one on garland or I’ll just go back to JPMINO Coffee on dual. At least those places actually care if a customer...
Read moreWe went through the drive through and repeated our order to the cashier 5 times and even corrected her when we saw the order was still wrong on the screen. Once we made it to the window both coffees were wrong but one was salvageable, the other was supposed to be an XL decaf almond spice coffee it they gave us black decaf. We went through 3 different workers trying to explain it was wrong and was repeatedly told they don’t make that. I pulled the app up set to their location and showed them the exact order available at their location. They made it again but with just pumpkin spice, now we were loosing patience quickly so they said to pull up and they would get it correct. We pulled up and waited almost 10 MINUTES before going inside to see what the hold up was. THEY HADNT EVEN TRIED TO START REMAKING IT! They just told us to pull up in hopes we would wait long enough, give up and drive away. I have NEVER had to repeat an order so many times and deal with absolute disrespect and laziness at ANY other Dunkin. I had asked for a manger or someone who may know the menu better and was ignored. This experience was absolutely wild and as someone who works as a manager in retail if my team ever treated a customer like this I would be mortified and conversations...
