Great tasting food, with reasonable prices, good sized portions, solid variety, clean place and professional associates. I have read reviews about waiting times, wrong order, etc. In my experience, I have not received the wrong order -yet:-). But this does not mean complaints are not warranted! Sorry it happened to those who did not get the right food:-(. If a service cares, they can only improve by sharing concerns to properly addressed them. Quite frankly, I have received chicken that looked and tasted re-fried. But I shared the experience, and this "has" not happened again -- even if the associate must remind the cook(s). Eddie's is a very clean place, with extremely fast service, where meals are cooked on the spot. One suggestion cut down on the cleaning while customers are onsite. Wet floors can be risky, and the smell/inhaling of cleansing fluids [bleach] can be off-putting should patrons decide to eat at Eddie's. All in all, the prices are reasonable, and the associates are professional. They may be a bit impersonal but who comes to a takeout to make friends? Given the quality of foods in eateries and restaurants today, if Eddie's was a purchased, branded and relocated as a "high-end" restaurant, with the service principles and practices, they would likely make millions, and we, most surely, will lose yet another small community business! Yes, I do get out often and have experienced my share of so-called worldly "cuisines” and good food. I am also not the spokesperson for Eddie's Carryout:-). I respect my community and value establishments that value customers by providing good service, great food -- at an affordable price and safe location. Eddie's does not describe itself as a treasure from the Orient Express. I knew what I wanted when I arrived at Eddie's and did not expect anything than what I got. I also do not frequent carryouts weekly. Again, pretty good place, that I have shared with colleagues, family and people visiting the area looking for a good carryout. Given the considerable traffic/customers this carryout attracts, looks like Montgomery Village and neighboring towns welcome Eddie's with open arms and mouths!...
Read moreMy son used to eat here everyday after school for his entire high school life. 18 months ago my son was killed less than a year after he graduated. Friday August 9th was my birthday and I found myself near Eddie's with my daughter and thought how nice, lets bring a memory of him into our lives even for a moment. I ordered 3 4 piece wings with fried rice and 3 egg rolls. The menu states 5.50 for wings, 1.50 for egg rolls. I get charged almost 22.00. I get home and I have 2 3 piece and 1 4 piece. Ok, so I call...the man who answers the phone tells me she wrote 3 three piece chicken, ok then why did i get a 4 piece and he started yelling saying cause the chicken was smaller (no it was all the same size). So I added everything up and I said but u charged me for 3 four piece and he said no 4 piece is 7.10. No your menu says 5.50. He hung up on me. So by this time I think I'm crazy so I go on line and the online menu says 5.00 for 4 piece and rice. So I call back and the girl answers the phone and I explain again and she says, "i charged u for 3 pieces and chicken doesnt come with rice" now I know I'm not crazy. "So she starts screaming that I didnt read the menu" and hangs up on me. So I call back and I say, your online menu says your choice of rice or chicken and she starts yelling again, "we dont have an online menu" and hangs the phone up on me again. It was not the matter of the money, or the chicken. It was the point they made a mistake and they couldnt say sorry. I will never eat there again. I encourage anyone eating there to check how they charge u compared to the menu prices. The way they talked to me had me was...

I've enjoyed this place so far. Trying out different things as I go. I recommend: Combination Lo Mein is good but they skimp a bit on the protein. Mongolian beef is good, there are a lot of fried onions/green onions in it and they actually have char on them. So I really enjoy that one. Bourbon chicken is good. It's not AS good as what you might get at a mall, but it's close. The sweet and sour chicken was one of the better I've had. Only had it once so far but it had a great crunch on the outside. Egg roll was decent.
I don't recommend: their fried rice. It's yellow and tasteless, so they probably use a neutral oil with no sauces/spices. The crab Rangoon are the triangles as opposed to the four prong crowns. Which I've always found to be inferior. They didn't taste like anything. Kung pao was a let down too. First one I've seen in MD with a variety of veggies (which I like). A lot of kung Pao in MD is just chicken and peanuts. But the sauce was sweet and not spicy. So it was really off-putting when I ate it. ALSO the egg drop soup was good. But they use premade/individually wrapped crunchy noodles. First time I'd ever seen them anywhere. And they were not good.
The place prepares their food quite fast. I ordered $60 of food last time and they quoted me 10-12 minutes. I think not dealing with sit down orders or deliveries makes it easier to crank out food. So far good food. I recommend them as a good place. They also do small orders on some of their entrees. Which I appreciate so I can try things without spending...
