Friendly's — Restaurant in Maryland

Great service and good ice cream! 10/10 recommendation. Stopped here for a quick ice cream to cool off on a very hot day. They have a cute little take out window that I used. There are two doorbells, one of each side of the window, to let them know you’re at the window. The girl who took my order was super nice and very quick. Friendlys is not typically known for their fast service, IMO based on loads of previous experiences, but I’m pretty sure this was the fastest I’ve ever received my ice cream. My order was packaged very nicely with a lid covering it. She also handed me a spoon with some napkins which was nice. She asked me if I wanted a bag but I declined. Judging from their ice cream menu board, they offer 19 different flavors, loads of topping which kids and adult alike will enjoy, and a variety of options like shakes which they call Fribbles, 8 different ice cream sundaes, banana splits, and Friend-Z’s which I would liken to a Dairy Queen Blizzard. There were a number of different “topping” you can mix into your Friend-Z. And an almost endless list of toppings for your ice cream. The parking area was huge offering loads of free parking as well as handicapped spots conveniently located. I saw no trash on the ground, and there were trash cans located outside so you toss your trash when finished. They even offered a couple of tables/benches out front to sit at. All this and conveniently located right off of rte.2 in Glen Burnie. I was so excited about my ice cream that I forgot to take a picture of it until after I’d already started digging in. Very disappointed. We came to the store 30 minutes before closing only to be turned away by a rude and abrasive staff (not just one person, it seemed everyone on the staff was trying to dish out something negative). All we wanted was a quick dessert. A scoop or 2 of ice cream. Instead we were told that the store was closing soon and that they would not seat us. We saw plenty of open seats and informed them that we were just looking for ice cream not a full meal. They didn't even offer us the option of ordering anything to go. Just sent out back out into the pouring rain with the suggestion of trying another place down the street. Don't advertise that you are open to a specific time if you are going to turn customers away 30 mins before closing. When I worked in fast food, we served any customer up to the very last second that we were advertised as being open. Even if the manager was at the door in the process of locking up the lobby they would let them in. The customers were always grateful, respectful, and did their best to ensure that they were not holding up the closing process and keeping the staff there later than they...

Friendly's is so much fun. You see people in there of all ages from the youngest to the oldest: Individuals, couples, families, friends. Kids meals, senior meals, cool stuff like fried pickle chips, mini mozzarella sticks, munchie mania, wraps, soup, seafood choices, and basically something for everyone. It's just a very simple, fun, warm, laid- back atmosphere especially nice for a date night, family night, or birthday for anyone. Burgers, chicken, appetizers, and ice cream are always gr8! Menu now has less offerings (which is very understandable in this Economy) but breakfast is back @ some locations! Prices are inexpensive, restaurant is always clean whenever I've been there, not TOO loud, and food comes fast & hot; decent portions. Latest visit myself & a friend were here for Valentine's and everything was good but we did feel a bit rushed by our very young waitress as it began getting busier and more ppl started coming in. (But wait staff here are cool & sweet; they take care of & check on you.) And our Banana Split didn't QUITE 😃 look like the menu picture but was Yummy. Overall though, I ❤️...
