I purchased the following items on 1/15/2024: chicken soup, medium curry chicken, medium brown stew, jerk chicken and 3 patties -spinach, beef and chicken.
The total was approximately $65.00. Let’s start with the soup, the soup was so bad that I had to take pictures of it so you could believe exactly what I will attempt to describe to you. It contained a partial piece of a chicken neck bone and a chicken gristle. There was no other chicken in my soup container. It had 2 large pieces of potatoes, 1 piece of shedded carrot and 2 large unidentifiable pieces of something ( my husband said it was a rolled dumpling). I am unable to say what it is because I refuse to taste it. There was a large amount of broth. The cost was $7 dollars for this nasty soup.
The curry chicken, and the brown stew was so tough, it was very chewy … I did not eat that either It usually is falling off the bones. I asked for extra gravy in both dishes, which she poured over all of the peas and rice and over my cabbage. The third item was jerk chicken. I have not tasted that dish yet! There were three patties that I have not tasted yet. I am so disgusted with the food there that I called back and explained to the person who I was and tried to describe my soup and how there was no chicken in it at all except for a gristle and a neck bone.
She said sorry that’s all she could say I told her that I would be putting this on Google and she said OK, I will never eat there again ever that’s how bad the food was. I have eaten there before and it was pretty good.
Maybe management changed chefs but today this food was awful and I clearly would have asked for a refund. However, the lady forgot to give me my receipt. I used my credit card so if the owner reads this I am requesting that I be given a chance to change my mind about this dining experience. It may have been just a bad day, I would love to change review.

Read moreRarely do I ever write a review. However, given my recent experience--I feel supremely compelled to do so. This is directed to the owner specifically, as you are ultimately accountable for employee performance. For reasons mostly characterized by family tradition and a strong allegiance to supporting African and African American owned businesses, I've been a Golden Krust patron since 1989. Essentially, when the first store opened on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx. As such, there is always an intentional effort to tether my money to a Golden Krust in whatever city I visit. New to the area, I have visited your business twice in the last month, purchased nearly $70 each time and also observed customer interaction. I have no fear of contradiction from anyone on the following statement--the cashier's affect, tenor and tone is woefully and grossly inept...very much like impending doom and I've never experienced or witnessed this behavior at any other franchise or business in general. Animals are trained and employees are coached/developed. As evidenced by similar feedback memorialized on this forum by other patrons--it is readily apparent that you have failed to do either. One can only presume their is a strong possibility that perhaps the employee is a relative? Hence, the reason this is happening with your complicity. Consequently, the oxtail meat portions are substandard and the curried goat was somewhat undercooked. It goes without saying, the famous patties are still famous. Honestly, the cook could have had a bad day/night and I would be willing to try again...if it weren't for the cashier. While we will continue to support Golden Krust, the unfortunate truth is that neither I, my family or friends will support you as a franchise owner. Best of luck on ensuring your business...
Read moreYou know I would really like to reinforce the comments expressed by Dei. Me and my wife are also former NYC. Residents now residing in Maryland which we love and we occasionally visited The Golden Crust in all NYC locations, all excellent I must say and were never disappointed, However This Golden Crust in Catonsville MD is unfortunately nowhere up to par and it's ashame. Everytime we purchased food at this Catonsville location the food just was not good at all. We always hoped it would get better but it just never did. The Curry goat is dis-satisfactory no flavor and is not properly cooked soggy. How could this be? Golden Crust what? I'm shocked. Man and tonight I convinced my wife to try again and same disappointing results. So she wishes she didn't listen to me and I'm definitely more disappointed than her. I should've listened to her. Maybe you guys should have a cook come in from the NYC Golden Crust to retrain or train the cooks here. This is Maryland we have to represent man!! I have no complaints about customer service but my wife had a bit of gripe at least once. Maybe customer service retraining also, just a suggestion to get us up to par here in Maryland. Also have to mention the Jerk chicken here was terrible it was tough like wood and well you get the point. Note to the owner you can't have cooks coming in to do their own thing make sure they keep up to the Golden Crust standards and recipes. I know you guys will eventually get it right. Golden Crust Maryland...
