Hadn't been here in a few years and decided to go again last night with the family. When we got seated, the server came over and took our order before telling us he would be back with drinks, which took around 7-10 minutes, but the place was crowded so no big deal there.
The issue came after our food was brought out. Some of the side orders for the food was wrong, and others didn't receive the sauces they asked for, which would ideally be an easy fix, but our server had just disappeared. He wasn't even the one to bring us our food. We had to get someone else to fix the incorrect side order and bring out the sauces we initially ordered.
I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos which were good, but the tortillas were very small, and it was overloaded with cabbage, pineapple and tomato to the point where you couldn't even properly close the shell, making it difficult to eat. I tried to scoop some of the extra toppings off, but unfortunately most of the salsa was on these so I ended up eating a dry shrimp taco, and I couldn't ask for more because my waiter still had not been back to check on us.
By this point I my drink had been empty for about 20 to 25 minutes, and I couldn't eat anymore without something to wash it down. By the time the waiter finally came back to check on us, and brought back my refill, the shrimp on my other taco were cold and I no longer wanted to eat it. It took another 15 minutes for us to get boxes and the check.
The reason why this review is a 2 star and not 1 star is because the other members of my party said their food was adequate, though nothing mindblowing, and the view was nice (although the flies were an issue, but that is to be expected with outdoor patios). But due to the poor service I can't give anything higher than 2 stars, as it left me with a bad taste in my mouth (figuratively speaking) and I probably won't be returning in the future, which is a shame because this place used to be...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for quite a while, often with larger parties, and we’ve always enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere. The servers are usually fantastic (shoutout to Ryan, who was awesome), and the kitchen consistently delivers. Unfortunately, our experiences with a hostess named Kimberly have been extremely disappointing the last few visits. I understand working in hospitality isn’t easy, but her attitude toward guests is unprofessional and unnecessary. Two weeks ago we visited as a party of 7 (including two children). The wait was close to an hour, which was fine—we grabbed drinks and waited patiently. While showing my daughter the boats at the dock, we briefly placed our glasses on a dirty, unused table. No one was seated in that area for over 35 minutes, and we were not in anyone’s way. Kimberly came storming over, yelling at us to move, and when I explained we were just showing the kids the water, she continued to be rude. She even cursed us out under her breath as she walked away (which we clearly heard) and later made derogatory comments about us to another hostess—completely uncalled for since we were never rude to her. This past Saturday night we returned with family and again had an issue with her. After being seated in an overly tight spot, we politely asked if we could wait longer for a different table. The hostess assisting us was kind and accommodating, but Kimberly came over loudly questioning why we were “just standing there” and even snapped at her coworker in front of everyone. It was uncomfortable and set a really negative tone before we even sat down. We love the food, drinks, and servers here, but the way Kimberly treats paying customers (and even her coworkers) is not okay. Hospitality should be welcoming, not hostile. I truly hope management addresses this, because her attitude makes an otherwise great restaurant...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place last night. Ordered $92 worth of food for 2, but literally everything was a miss. (2) Stuffed flounder: fresh flaky fish perfectly cooked with lump crab, but the old bay was POURED on the fish, making it so salty my eyes were watering. I paid $60 for the entrees, so I'm going to have to wait until I can go home and scrape the spices off of the fish. Shrimp Potato Skins: The opposite of the entree - no seasoning or flavor. They're depending on the minced onion and mayo from the shrimp salad and the cheddar. I expected at least black pepper, maybe green onion, bacon, and a LITTLE salt. A sautéed shrimp vs. steamed shrimp on the skins would be a winner! We ordered the vegetable medley: again, no flavor, no butter, no seasoning, for these beautiful fresh zucchini. For a seafood restaurant, I'd at least expect that the veg is tossed in clarified butter and hit with a punch of salt. If I could take the old bay from the fish and put it on the rest of the food equally, it would've been good. I was told the coleslaw was good - fresh. Lastly, the orange crush cake, which I added at the last minute, and it brought my bill up $10 more tasted like pure boxed cake and whipped topping. I loved the orange pulp and zest, but I was hoping for a scratch cake due to the price and portion. I, of course, thought I was going to be blown away, so I filmed my reaction to the food for my channel. I can say the staff when I picked up were so friendly and helpful. If I were looking to hang out with friends at the bar, I'd go here. It had a fun atmosphere, but I wouldn't be tempted to order another $100 worth of food. My video will be...
