Il Forno Pizzeria — Restaurant in Maryland

I will never go to this place again. I was introduced to this place in the early 2000's when I lived near by. It was strange that a pizza place made samosas but they were decent. After moving out the of the county, I continued to go back each year and place a large order samosas for our annual Multi-cultural night at school.

This year, I called for pricing. The man who answered woudn't tell me the cost. I told him I thought it was 3 for $1 and he told me it was 4 for a $1. Then said it was 2 for $1. By then I was sketched out. It seemed weird. He then said I was trying to haggle for the price. Let me be clear, I would have paid whatever the price, as long as I knew the price.

My mom then went in to talk to them and they were confrontational and rude to her. Yelling at her and telling her that she was trying to cheat them. How is that for customer service? I will never go back or order from them ever. Customer service...

This restaurant was a nice surprise on so many levels.

First, it’s a combined pizza and Indian restaurant. So when the kids want pizza, but adults want Indian, yay! There’s something for everyone.

Second, the pizza was decent. It had twice as much cheese as most pizzas, and we didn’t order extra cheese. The restaurant also had some really fun pizza toppings, like capers!

Third, they took traditional Italian-American appetizers, like fried mushrooms, and improved them by cutting them so you could enjoy the mushroom more.

Fourth, they have a nice take-away grocery of Indian desserts and breads. Yum!

Finally, the couple who owns the restaurant is delightful. They have owned the restaurant for 30 years, and they are always smiling with kind eyes.

There was a bit of stickiness on the placard of specials on the table and the ambiance was not spectacular, hence the 4 stars...

Well finally I got a chance to eat at ll forno pizzeria and I must say I was very very disappointed, my server was very uninvolved in her duties. We sat next to a group of a dozen men. They had 3 separate orders of wings between, which were white, looked like they were boiled and sauced and sent out. No one touched any of them. Which was my second red flag. But hey we were there for some of the best pizza in Frederick. We ordered a large Pepperoni and a large Shrimp Alfredo Pizza. The Pizza looked fantastic, BUT HAD ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO DAMN FLAVOR WHAT'S SO EVER. I will not be coming back. So if you are a person who's big on flavor and love for your food to look good and taste good this is not the place for you to go. Senior citizen hospital...
