I called to purchase a wireless router using my cc so that my fiance could pick the item up in the store. The phone was answered by a young lady who asked some basic questions regarding the purchase. It didn't bother me that the woman sounded bored or lazy, because she managed to find the item fairly quickly (I understand the wireless routers sit a few feet from customer service and can be reached from their chairs). I was then put on hold. Approximately 10 minutes later, she returned to the phone and asked for my name and some information. I was a little concerned for today's youth when she couldn't spell my last name, or repeat the letters or numbers I was saying. She put me on hold, before getting any payment information. Approx 8 minutes later a man picked up the phone and apologized and proceeded to attempt to up sell me. I declined and advised I just wanted the item I originally asked for. He took my personal information and then advised the girl was back and would help me. She got back on the phone and got my personal information (this is the third time) but still couldn't spell my name (the one we already figured out previously). She put me on hold. Approx 6 minutes later she returned and asked me for all my information again. By this time I was getting a little agitated. I live in Miami and I'm used to horrible customer service, but this was the worst I've encountered in some time. After working out my name again, and providing my phone number for the fourth time, I provided my cc info. I then reminded the woman for the fourth time that this was for my fiance and they should probably have her name so she could pick the item up. If you're reading this you're probably not surprised to learn (as I wasn't) that my fiance entered the store a few hours later only to have them tell her there was no router there for her. My fiance was asked who I had dealt with. I told her to advise it was the retarded girl, and hopefully that would narrow it down. I guess it didn't. I then began to call the Best Buy so I could speak to a manager and try and determine how this store was still in business. Perhaps I could speak to corporate and take on the manager's position in my spare hour or two a week. I'm sure the store would improve. My fiance convinced someone to give her the router since she had my name, phone number, and cc number. After giving it to her, one of the young employees stated, "oh look, there's your name in the computer". My fiance walked to the door with the item which kept setting off the door alarm. No one seemed to care. I'm wondering why we paid for it at this point as people this stupid deserve to be taken advantage of. She tried to address the matter with store personnel who didn't care. My fiance got home and was unable to open the box as it had a security apparatus which encircled the box. I know that big cities are notoriously awful for customer service, some worse than others like Miami, D.C., Chicago, etc, but I truly weep for america's youth. I've had better customer service buying chickens...
Read moreLet me start by saying, if I could have given 0 stars I would have. My family and I have been coming to this Best Buy for YEARS to make all of our tech purchases...from speakers to laptops to yesterday, which was supposed to be a TV and sound system (amongst other items) for my new apartment. Upon arriving at the TVs at the back wall of the store, we spent about 10 minutes walking around looking at the products on display and had no one approach us to offer any assistance. Then, we sought out an employee who decided that he would rather continue answering another customer's hundreds of questions regarding a $20 product INSTEAD OF trying to find us assistance. After approaching the employee several more times and waiting for another 15 minutes, another employee was sent to "assist us". The only assistance she provided was to say that they had no 60" TVs on display, and she could not have seemed more UNINTERESTED in making a ~$5k sale. We then approached the front of the store and spoke to two different "managers." Not only did they both have the WORST attitude possible when we asked a simple question like, "could we have someone assist us in buying a new TV?" Their response was "oh there should already be someone back there...we already called someone." No, actually there was not a single sales person who tried to assist us. We ultimately decided to inform the store manager, Oscar Egas, that we were going to be taking our business elsewhere, to which he LITERALLY SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS. The people that work at the Gaithersburg Best Buy are HORRIBLE. All the way from the top of the ignorant and rude store manager, down to the most uncaring employees. And oh by the way...the place we took our business elsewhere was the Germantown Best Buy off of Frederick Rd and let me tell you, it was like NIGHT and DAY! The store employees AND Montgomery County PD officer not only greeted us upon entry, they offered us assistance right away and were very eager to send someone back to meet us at the TVs. And guess what...it was actually a SALES PERSON that was VERY KNOWLEDGABLE about all of the products they had (on display and online). I would HIGHLY encourage you to not spend ANY money at the Gaithersburg Best Buy (off of shady grove rd) and instead make the extra 15min drive to the Germantown location. You will have a MUCH better experience, especially if you're also looking to make a large purchase and you care about how you're treated...
Read moreWireless earbuds went out on me, so I decided to buy new ones from Best Buy. Went online selected a pair, set up for the curbside experience. Within an hour the text comes through informing me my order is ready for pick-up. I head over to the nearest Best Buy which is also the one noted in my app (Germantown). A young lady comes to the car asks my last name and what I ordered. Goes inside returns a few minutes later and says its at Gaithersburg and its showing its already been picked up, but not to worry, it's probably still there. I drive over to the Gaithersburg store. Park notice two ladies walking up to cars and coming back out with orders. Now, my app is still reporting my order was picked up, but I'm not worried. I'm here someone will walk over and ask me how they can help me, right? No. I'm sitting there all the other cars are gone, I'm sitting there. Two more cars pull up, the young ladies come out ask how they can help. Wait, did I hit the invisible mode on my vehicle? I head inside, and see one of the ladies coming out. I ask "are you working curbside?" She tells me "yes, stand there I'm helping a customer". So what am I? The other young lady comes out to the makeshift kiosk they have as I'm standing there, and asks how she can help me. I tell her my name and product ordered she hands it to me. I then asked for the supervisor of the lady that told me she was working with another customer. I'm told she is a supervisor, okay so who is her supervisor? Jesse comes out, I explain to him the fact I had been sitting in the parked curbside spot for ten minutes and that I found the young lady to be rude and unprofessional. Jesse then basically, tells me they don't approach cars until an order is received inside as some people will park in the curbside only spots and walk into the store. Well, that wasn't my point or concern. She saw me sitting in the spot, and then when I exited the car; her response should have been how can I help you, given, my order was at the kiosk the entire time. Again, I checked in at the Germantown location. I strongly suggest a review of your policy to not approach vehicles parked in the curbside only spots until the order comes through on the inside. As my order was in over an hour ago, and noted as picked up. Your app doesn't allow you to indicate that you do not have...
