My name is Elana Jenkins. I was a customer at the Ledo’s Pizza located at 6955 Oakland Mills Rd. My party and I visited your restaurant today October 28, 2018 at approximately 2:30 pm.
I am extremely saddened to report that my guests and I are highly disappointed in the customer service we received at your establishment this afternoon. Our server Adia was extremely rude and is severely lacking in basic customer service skills. She never made us feel welcomed and upon arrival she eagerly encouraged us to visit 2 other local restaurants instead because we were a group of 10 and expecting 3 more guests. One more than the 12 your policy allows for groups. We agreed to stay and separate our group once the last 3 arrived. Upon entering the dining room we realized that we were the only other customers in the restaurant so we didn’t think that there would be a big issue accommodating our extra guest. We were very wrong!
Once our guests arrived Adia intentionally sat them as far away from us as possible. When we inquired why they couldn’t sit in the booth next to ours when there was no one else in the restaurant. She simply stated that the policy was no groups over 12, so we couldn’t talk or sit near each other. We also asked if they would have a separate server she said no, so we couldn’t understand why there was a problem.
One of our guests then asked to speak with a manager who reiterated the policy but couldn’t explain why it would inconvenience them to either accommodate our one extra guest or sit them at a closer booth in an empty restaurant.
Our guests ended up leaving. They did not want to continue to engage with the unreasonable staff and management. Nor did they want to spend anymore money with your business.
It is staff like the manager on duty and the server Adia who contribute to the destruction of businesses like yours. The only reason the rest of us stayed was because we had several children in our party who were looking forward to pizza and birthday cupcakes.
However, I as well as the other guests plan to continue sharing our experiences and dissatisfaction with our multiple networks both on and offline. So that hopefully they will be able to avoid having a similar experience with your staff...
Read moreI walked in to get something to eat, to take my mind off the searing pain of a surgery I just had elsewhere in the same strip-mall. The guy at the counter seemed nice enough, explaining the menu items, and I said this was my first time at a Ledo's and I didn't know anything about how to order there, so I was glad to have him guide me through. After I ordered a personal pizza, assuming I could sit down at the table and eat it, I tried sitting down and the waitress came over to take my order. These booth seats didn't look any more like a sit-down restaurant than any other pizzeria, so how was I to know that you aren't allowed to sit down if you order from where I had just got done ordering my pizza. I asked why they had this policy and she told me that people who order in the front of the pizzeria, like you would do at most other pizzerias, aren't allowed to sit down because they are probably not going to tip, where as if you order at the table (which I had no idea I could do) that you would probably tip with the payment, so that pays for the waitress, so you get to sit down. There was a three person wide bench for people to wait for orders, and I was told I could eat there, if I didn't want to go out into the snowy cold, and I kept thinking to myself: "Why didn't they just offer to let me carry my own pizza over there and not have a waitress, or offer to pay some kind of surcharge to make up for the tip? If I bust out some paper money and stuffed it under a salt shaker, right then and there, would I not get tossed the hell out of the pizzeria?
About once a year, for the past three years, I've been in a Ledo's, so to say I've never been there would be a lie, but I'm not there enough to be familiar and the other TWO Ledo's I've been to did not do this to me and also did not have a waitress hovering around, if I remember correctly. I'll never go to this Ledo's again, and the only reason they don't have one star is that the guy at the counter seemed nice enough, and other than throwing me out, the waitress was pleasant. Imagine that ... being pleasantly told to get lost because there is no way to fix your screwed up...
Read moreHorrible service. Absolutely horrible. My sister left in tears. So I'll start by saying the food was good. It's what you expect from Ledo's. However the whole experience fell apart with our server. We came in with our children and our niece and nephews. Eight kids, four adults. I know, sounds like it could be the children that just went crazy and made a huge mess and tore the place apart. Except they didn't. We don't permit roudy behavior in restaurants. We understand the stigma of a large family and we work hard to make sure our children represent themselves well. For some reason our server took one look at our group and decided he didn't need to treat us with respect or dignity. He was rude and unfriendly and treated our children so poorly. As if they were wrong for just being there. At first I thought perhaps he was nervous, but it quickly became clear he was put out by our being there. He did the bare minimum and even then he did it with an attitude. I'd chalk it up to a bad day but the next part just needs to be said. I'm going to say this and I really am opposed to dropping the race card, but I'm going to call it what it is. My family is white. But my sister has adopted children from kenya and they are obviously not white. The way he spoke to and sneered at my niece made me want to crawl across the table and smack him. She didn't notice, but I did. It's appalling and shameful. I'm livid and if I could have found a manager I would have handled it right then and there. The final insult was the check. He added gratuity. Now, look maybe it's policy for a large group. It's not posted anywhere but maybe it's policy. However, one of us paid separately. So that was a one person check. He freaking add gratuity to that check as well. I couldn't believe it. It was his loss as both my sister and I were servers and we know how to tip well. My husband loves Ledo's. So we've been to many in the area. But this was our first time at the Ledo's in Columbia, MD. We...
