I used to think that Lee's had the best Chinese food in Harford County, but my favorite Chinese restaurant has gone from sugar to.....(you know the saying). I used to go to Lee's sometimes twice a week because it's a really convenient stop on my way home. I stopped going as much because the food went from being excellent food at a good price to food that is mediocre (too salty and just not as good) for the price. Perhaps they had a change in cooks or something. Well, it had been awhile since I went, so I decided to go last night and give it another try. I ordered my usual, General Tso's shrimp with the sauce on the side. When I got home and started to eat it, it was disgusting. The tempura batter on the shrimp was too hard to eat. I called back and asked for the manager, but Aaron stated he would be able to help me. I told him my issue with the food, and he offered a refund or a credit for the exact meal. I accepted the credit for a future visit because I was not going back out last night. I asked if he wanted me to return the food the next day, and he said no. While out running errands today, I decided to go get my replacement order. When I arrived to pick up my order, it was not ready, so I had to wait in the area by the front door. All of a sudden, the tall African American guy with the Chinese accent came out with an open container of food and plastic fork in hand. Needless to say, I was taken aback when he approached me and asked if I ordered the General Tso's shrimp with the sauce on the side. I said yeah. He went on to ask me if it looked okay and if I wanted to taste it to make sure. For a minute, I thought he was going to fork it and feed it to me. I found it very strange, and not to mention unsanitary, for him to walk my food out to the waiting area by the door where other customers were waiting and paying for their food. I was not trying to get a free meal. The food was not good, so I didn't eat it and I didn't want to waste 14 bucks. Well, I wasted the money afterall because I didn't eat the food he paraded out in the lobby either. A simple please check your food before you leave would have sufficed. I will not be going back to Lee's ever again. If they have a practice of taking uncovered to-go orders out to the waiting area, perhaps it's time for the health department to...
Read moreHave ordered several times since new owners took over and food and service has been good. Today, I ordered the beef and garlic, chicken fried rice, wonton soup, udon chicken and chicken egg foo young. Service is fast and driver is extremely polite and friendly. The beef and garlic is amazing, tender beef and veggies in a delicious brown garlicky sauce. It was very impressive. Will definitely order it again! Went great with the chicken fried rice. The egg foo young was delicious as well. The only room for improvement that I can recommend is to maybe change the brown sauce for the egg foo young. It was very dark brown and thick and tasteless. You had to take a knife to smear it on. It wasn't like the normal egg foo young gravy that is thinner in consistency and sweeter. All was well though as I just didn't eat the gravy. Wonton soup is very tasty but needs more wontons. I frequent different locations as well as locations in New York and the wonton soup is always plentiful with wontons. Approx 5 in a small and 9 or 10 in a large. The container is usually overflowing with wontons. Other than that, the customer service is amazing and orders are prioritized and delivered quickly. We even received complimentary, free cheese fried wontons which were delicious and a very nice surprise. Thank you!😊 Will continue to recommend and will be ordering again soon!
Update from 11/22/24. Have visited twice in the past week and the food is excellent. Staff are so incredibly kind and friendly. Your business is truly appreciated. The sesame chicken is delicious, huge chunks of white meat chicken and a sweet and savory sauce topped with sesame seeds. The pork spare ribs are also delicious. I love how they are on the plainer side and not full of sauce. Seasoned just right. Beef with onions and green pepper is so tasty and the beef is soft and easy to chew. What I most appreciate about Lee's Asian Bistro is how the staff treats you. As a customer, I am always welcomed and server's are eager to make sure that you are happy with your food and the service. Thank...
Read moreI live very close to the “Bistro” and we used to get delivery all the time, we didn’t mind the hour or two hour wait time, we knew to order early. Last Saturday, knowing they would be busy, I made my order (early) of Shrimp Fried Rice and the Shrimp & Mushrooms was told when I ordered it would be 45 minutes to an hour, shrugged it off knowing it would be longer (wasn’t my first rodeo)... 3 hours later I called back, because I hadn’t received my order yet. The guy on the phone who answered seemed concern, but the lady that he connected me to needs to learn better customer service skills!! She was yelling at me that she had been calling and how I needed to answer my phone (I hadn’t received a single call since placing the order). The gentleman I had talked to previously had said that they wrote my address down wrong. I kept trying to say something but the lady on the phone wasn’t giving me a chance. I wanted to say how I hadn’t received a call and how the guy said they wrote down my house number wrong... I tried three times, but she kept yelling at me - finally, I had to talk over her - and by this time I’m livid - I told her to cancel the order and to not take the money off my card. When I got off the phone with the rude employee I checked my account and they had taken the money out already. I haven’t received a refund yet either. I’ve ordered from Lee’s before for work as well, which is right around the corner, and had to call back after waiting 3 hours (again) - they apologized and said the food would be there soon. When it arrived the food was cold, they did give us extra appetizers, but bad service shouldn’t be an option. I’m so very disappointed. I’ll never order from this “Bistro” again - if I could give a lower...
