My parents, my son, and I were looking forward to having lunch at Long John Silver's. We live in PA and lately, we don't seem to get in that area as often as we like. Our experience in that particular establishment (located in LaVale, MD) was made very disappointing because of the horrible service we received! I don't want to make assumptions (well, I guess I'm going to) but the lady waiting on us looked to be of retirement age and made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her by approaching the counter. No "Hello", "Welcome", or even the usual, "May I help you?" She waited for us to speak and when I asked about a dinner I did not see in the menu board, I was met with an angry, "It's up there on the board". She made taking our order such a difficult and awkward task by treating us as if every dinner requested was confusing to her. Then after specifically asking if I could get a 2 fish, 1 chicken dinner, I was given 4 pieces of chicken. After standing in line several minutes, the young lady, also behind the counter, rectified the situation with a smile, was so pleasantly polite, and thanked us for coming in. I didn't get her name and I wish I had so I could give her the kudos she deserves!! (She was a pretty young lady with black hair and glasses, tall and thin, and looked to be late teens/early twenties). If a person does not like dealing with people or dislikes social situations, then it's only logical to say that public service is NOT the job for that person. Not only was our lunch basically ruined (because all we discussed was the horrible service we received) but I had to get my dinner to go because after taking my incorrect dinner back, I had to get it to go because my family had finished...
Read moreWe were really excited to visit this Long John Silver’s while in town, especially since the one near our hometown had closed. We arrived at 10:45 AM, hoping to grab a quick bite before heading out, but the doors were still locked. Thinking maybe the lobby was closed, we drove through the drive-thru, where the employee informed us they didn’t open until 11:00 AM. No problem, we figured we’d wait a little longer and came back at 11:15 AM.
When we returned, the door was still locked, and the employee inside told my friend they still weren’t open yet. Since we needed to hit the road, we left without eating. There were no signs indicating any kind of temporary closure, and to add to the confusion, the sign on the door still said 10:00 AM as the opening time, even though we were told they didn’t open until 11:00 AM.
This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and we really hope the management addresses the communication issue. Whether it’s updating signage or ensuring employees are on the same page, it’s important that this confusion doesn’t happen again for future customers. We were looking forward to a meal here, but unfortunately, our visit left us...
Read moreSince i can't give a negative rating This place doesn't even deserve a one star. I was told when they brought the food out they still owed us a chicken strip and they would bring it out as soon as it was ready. Apparently it takes 20 minutes to heat up a piece of chicken. When I went up to ask where the extra piece of chicken was and after they brought the cashier from the back, agsin she acted stunned that we didn't get the rest of one of our meals. And no they were not busy they probably had 3 customers come in while we were sitting there eating our dinner. I never did get the complete meal won't be a place I go back to again now I remember why I have avoided that place. Where are the adult Managers actually where were any managers they should have come out and ask me what my problem was when I complained. But I guess this is the kind of service we are going to have to learn to except when certain adults are too lazy to be present and they expect a bunch of children to...
