Updating my review from a few years ago. The last review I gave was 2 stars and in the review I stated that this place was alright if you are hungry and want a buffet but the food isn't the best. I can no longer recommend this place at all. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the taste of high quality Chinese food in the past few years, but I can say that even if this was my only experience with Chinese food, I still would give the review I am giving now. The food I had there yesterday was horrendous, if it could even be considered food at all. I know that the appeal of buffets is that you get an unlimited amount of food for one price, however, most other buffets have food that is at least middle-of-the-road in terms of quality. In some instances buffets even serve some top quality stuff. However, I can't say this food is low quality without insulting low quality food. The fried dumplings were clearly left out too long. Parts of them were soft as they should be but other parts were starting to harden and dry out. Normally with this style of dumpling they are either boiled or fried. These were boiled despite the sign saying fried. I would be fine with that if they at least boiled them correctly. The wonton wrapper should be soft all the way around if done properly. Yet mine had crunchy parts. It was almost like biting into a half cooked spaghetti noodle. Half was soft and the other half was crunchy. So it was either left out too long or cooked improperly. The teriyaki chicken was alright. Some of the pieces tasted alright but other pieces had over concentrated sauce or sauce with little flavor. The pieces with bad sauce on it tasted like chemicals. The chicken on a stick was very low quality. The meat was very gristly, full of fat and squishy (not tender like chicken normally is). I could spend another 20 minutes listing all the items I tried but to be honest I don't want to do that. Now, on another note, the service wasn't the best. The entire time I was there, no workers were on the floor restocking empty trays or trays that were near empty. Years ago you would see workers refilling the buffet every few minutes or so. Now, its rare to see a worker at all. It was a truly disgusting experience, so much so that I lost my appetite for the rest of the day. Clearly nothing has changed here and despite this businesses promises to improve, they be only went backwards. I'm honestly surprised its still in business. Especially when better Chinese restaurants can be found locally. Do not recommend. In fact, I recommend against this place. Also, the bathrooms are disgusting and unclean. Almost forgot to...
Read moreOverall a great experience. We visited on a Sunday afternoon in March around 1:30pm and it was extremely busy. Not shoulder to shoulder but it was pretty full. We had a family of five and were able to get seated right away. The waitress asked for kids ages and drinks and then walked away. We'd never visited before but we took that as a cue that we could get food at the buffet. Not the most welcoming service but it looked like it was still the lunch rush. There was a very large selection of food. Your typical American-Chinese buffet.
There was sushi in the back and a hibachi grill as well. The sushi was a little disappointing. While there was sashimi, the salmon had a couple bones in still, possibly the pin bones? Also the selection was few and far between when we arrived. Lots of empty sushi plates but they were making more. Assuming they were having a hard time keeping up woth demand. Majoirty of the sushi had cream cheese in as well which im not a big fan off. My oldest son and wife tried the hibachi grill and it was fine. Nothing speactular.
The food overall was good. We did all agree that everything seemed much sweeter than normal. Not sure if extra sugar was added to some of the dishes but we had to try and cut alot of it with the soup or rice. It was definitely eatable but once again, nothing to write home about.
The dessert selection was larger than we are used to with a buffet like this and we determined that the sugar donuts were amazing. Also the chest freezer with ice creams was our highlight of the whole meal. I thought the butter pecan and mint chocolate chip was fantastic and my wife and kids claimed the rainbow serbert was the best. They also had a soft serve machine but i think the chest freezer ice cream was far superior. The only downside to this was the fact that some people or children don't know how to properly scoop the icecream and clean the scoops off in between scoups so alot of the ice creams had bits of other flavors mixed into it from using the same scoop without cleaning it. Not a dral breaker though as it was delicious.
Overall i wouldn't go out of my way to visit here again. We were just driving through town from PA to WV. But if we were in town we'd probably visit again when you have that hankering for a all you can eat American-Chinese buffet. Couldn't do it eveyday. For the price you pay, it's a pretty...
Read moreDidn't even want to give them one star, food was very old, the bathrooms are very dirty and STINK with flies, asked to have fresh General Tso's Chicken made because as I stated it looked like food from the day before. My eight year old watched the staff drop the silverware that was being wrapped, fell to the dirty floor, staff just picked it up and put it with the clean silverware. My eight year old picked up a plate off the buffet to discover it had the wrapper from someones silverware on the bottom of his plate. The Lo Mein noodles were cold, with no flavor, even after the lady stirred it up. Oh, when they finally brought out the so called fresh General Tso's it wasn't breaded at all, only had the sauce over it, and they put the new Tso's right on top of the two day old Tso's Chicken. My wife took our daughter to the restroom, they witness the staff using the bathroom and never once washed their hands (two staff members), not to mention they were females out of all people, should I say more about that, lol. NEVER DID WE SEE THE STAFF WASH THEIR HANDS after they cleaned anyone's tables, for example the waiter 'YoYo' touched all the dirty dishes from one table and then came over to refill our cups, ummmmm, NOPE NOT HAPPENING!!! Oh, we tried them crab legs, let me say those are by far the WORST Crab Legs EVER!!!! Shame on them for even having those crabs caught from the ocean, just to waste them like that, lol. Staff are very rude and play off they don't speak English just to avoid you. Should of just went to McDonalds if I wanted nasty food with lousy service, lmao. Curious to know why the Health Department hasn't shut them down, all you have to do is visit the men/women bathroom and count those dead and alive flies, disgusting, not to mention HOW BAD IT STINKS IN THE...
