Hostess Service - 2 Called in ahead of time trying to make a reservation, informed they don't do reservations here but instead they can put you on a "waitlist". Placed on wait list hour or so ahead of arrival. Once arrived, we were informed we were at top of waitlist and was next for table for our party size. 20 mins pass, I follow up check status, informed we still next, waiting on other parties to get up. Another 25 mins pass, follow up check again as we saw other parties same size that arrived after us get seated. This time was informed they so sorry and that they "forgot" about us and that we were next. Already frustrated waiting about 55 mins now, we finally get seated.
Waiter/Restaurant Service - 2 Waiter service was ok, could use a little more attentiveness. Half the time was nowhere to be found, waiting for drink refills, to go boxes, check, etc. Was served a drink with cracked glass. Cardboard straws (not a fan), creates more waste IMO as they do not hold up and would require multiple straws. Appreciate that they support the troops offering 10% military discount. However, I also criticize this establishment along with many other establishments on how they calculate recommended tip being on TOP of tax.
Food - 3 Shrimp & Lobster Chowder - pretty sure used frozen tiny shrimp, couldn't tell there was even any lobster, and no real flavor French Onion Soup - first time wasn't hot enough, cheese wasn't even melted. Second time, cheese was melted, but too much salt, barely any onions in soup Strawberry & Pecan Salad - was pretty good, hard to get wrong, just mixed fruit (strawberry, tangerines, grapes) with romaine lettuce and pecans Longhorn Porter House w/ side mash - med rare, cooked really well and tender, mashed potatoes were creamy Ribeye - med rare, nice and tender, great cook Renegade Sirloin - med rare, cooked well, just little more chewy in comparison (just type of cut) Renegade Sirloin & Redrock Grilled Shrimp - med rare, cooked well, shrimp slightly over cooked Chicken Tenders - not overly breaded Kids Mac & Cheese - slightly under cooked
I would go back, but probably only for special occasions if I were looking for a decent steakhouse. Would NOT get any of the soups. I would definitely stay on top of hostess in terms of seating, and waiter...
Read moreWe used to have every family birthday at this location, for years. We stopped going to the Germantown Longhorn due to having a terrible experience every time. When we go to the north, we always go to Texas Roadhouse, which we will do from now on. Tonight, my wife wanted steak, and we decided we did not want to drive far, and against our better judgement we went to this place. I ordered a chicken dish knowing I could not get a good steak. It was decent, and I had no complaints. My wife ordered the ribeye, medium, and when it came out it was closer to rare and was so hard to cut, and full of gristle, that we had to send it back. The server seemed upset and bothered by our complaint, and instead of saying she would get it remade, she asked what we wanted her to do. My wife mentioned it was a sirloin, not a ribeye, and she told us that a sirloin is round, and it was a ribeye. No clue what is going on there, but we know our steaks, and if you are calling that a ribeye, you are ripping people off intentionally. We decided to bump up the price and get the 6oz filet, medium, and when it came out, it was raw. Mind you, it took 20 minutes to have it remade and I was done my dinner. The server became argumentative when we told her and then showed her it was raw. She stated it was medium/medium rare, and clearly became frustrated with us, which was my last straw, and I went off on her. She told me not to talk that way and left. The manager came, agreed it was raw and asked what we wanted to do. I told her I had wanted to eat dinner with my wife, but I ate alone and just get us the check as we were done. If you cannot cook steak correctly, twice, I have no faith a third time would be better. I cook steak medium all the time, and I can nail it every single time. How is it this steak house cannot? She walked away and said she would take care of it, and after 10 minutes, we had no idea what that meant so we just got up and walked out without paying anything. No way I was giving anymore of my time, even waiting on a check. I will never go to any...
Read moreRarely share negative experiences as I tend to just brush them off, but this experience is something I needed to share.
As soon as we arrived, the hostess seemed to be bothered to help us to our table. We brushed it off and sat down to decide what we would order.
When our waiter came by, he seemed to be bother just as much as the hostess. If not more. He was very smart mouthed and visibly annoyed to be serving us.
In an ocasion, my partner ordered a steak. He always requests his meat medium rare, so he is pretty aware of what medium rare would look/taste like. When our food arrived, we noticed that the steak was not near being medium rare. It was practically raw. We told our waiter if we could please get this fixed as the meat was too raw and his response to us was that we should better explain the way we order things. A little confusing as I don't know what was a better way he wanted hs to explain medium rare.
Many issues just came up . We typically are very generous with tipping. Never do less than 25% as we both work in the restaurant field ourselves. When it came to paying we didn't want to leave with a $0 tip, even though the service we were provided measured down to that, so our tip was not as generous as usual. Before we fully got up from our table, the server grabbed our receipt and said "gee, thanks".
We didn't say anything, and just left.
I don't know the reason why we would have been addressed differently. We did come in casual attire and that is the only thing that could come to mind as to why we seemed to have been looked down on.
The only reason why this restaurant doesn't get one star, and why I would see myself coming back here again is because the food was beyond delicious. If only the was we were treated would have...
