TRIED TO PULL A BAIT AND SWITCH ON A CONFIRMED APP DEAL FOR A FREE SMALL MCFLURRY AND CHARGE ME $4+ EXTRA ON TOP OF MY MEAL OR BE DENIED SERVICE UNLESS I PAID UP IN FULL FOR THEIR SCAM.
I pulled into the drive thru and ordered two for $3.50 mcdoubles full price, then I used my APP coupon code # exactly as directed to confirm this additional FREE small mcflurry camp McDonalds coupon/deal with $1 min purchase. I read the five digit code exactly.as prompted to get this deal activated for my order. I followed the instructions to a T.
From the app and McDonald's website. Camp McDonalds
"Wed. 7/13 Deal: Free McFlurry® with $1 minimum purchase*"
There was no tally or display of exactly what is being ordered for what price like at most McDonald's drive thrus LCD menu so when I thought I heard the total as $3.50+ taxes not $8.75+ there was no way. Perhaps the total would be different once the QR code below the confirmation number was scanned or the coupon fully confirmed?(if so why did I even read the five digit confirmation #?)
When I got to the window the total order was $8.75+ NOT $3.50+ taxes and the small mcflurry I had a coupon for FREE was now $4+ extra.
The lady working the drive thru window immediately tells me there is no way to modify the order so I have to either pay for it all including their overpriced bait and switch mcflurry no substitution for their bait and switch. The way she conducted herself made me think that these deals are often denied at the payment window or changed in the owners favor to charge people extra, and this is thusly reflected by their poor reviews where multiple people ran into this SAME issue at this franchise.
The lady at the window said there was no option to just pay for the 2x for $3.50 burgers and skip the small mcflurry bait and switch...... or just drive off with no food, no deletion of their scam small mcflurry so the food will now just.end up in the bin and another dissatisfied customer???!
Total waste of time and gas. If the owners of this franchise can't accept the app deals or deals listed and confirmed by code# via drive thru stated by the camp McDonalds event then make that known online and while ordering.
I DO NOT blame any workers here, its a tough job and seems like the owners/Management are trying to make the deals as hard/impossible for the customer to get so they can turn a quicker buck of people not paying attention.
No one is paying $4.50+ taxes for a small mcflurry when it's listed as FREE!!! WITH $1 MIN PURCHASE with a valid coupon that day.
I do not appreciate having one pulled over on me like this, wasting my time/gas. McDonald's corporate has been contacted about the scam being run by this...
Read moreAlways a good experience. Depending on the days and the crew working that shift, there is a small language twist due to my persnickety ways. But, overall, it works out. I gave 3 stars for the food because let's be clear......it's McDonalds!🤣 UPDATE
July 6th, 2024 between 5:20-6:30pm, WHOEVER the husky Hispanic lady with the black hair pulled back is, she is absolutely unpleasant 2 deal with. Only time I see her smile is when ur leaving. ANY time she is there like today, this is what I get! This is about the 3rd time this has happened. I ordered a large fry and this is what it is??? A medium disguised in a large box. I'm contacting corporate because trying 2 deal with them is useless. Last time she had the nerve 2 give me hard fries and when I parked and came in and shared my dissatisfaction, that's when I received new hot fries. Then on another occasion, I ordered a Double Filet Sandwhich and because I'm allergic 2 Tarter Sauce, I always opt 4 extra mayo. But, when u order thru the app and make any kind of changes, it changes ur customization back 2 the original, but I didn't know that. When I got my order and checked it, there was tarter sauce on the sandwich. I brought it 2 their attention, one of the workers (Patricia) called herself scolding me because I made a mistake, telling me the classic line "we remake this time, but no again!" Like who tf do u think u are??? They make mistakes all the time and could care less about how it inconveniences u as the customer. Then onto these young people who have NO customer service Etiquette. They talk like ur one of their lil mindless friends. Not saying excuse me can u repeat that, but instead I get "what?" No, when u verbally annihilate somebody, ur the problem! I used 2 frequent this place in an unhealthy manner, but I literally DRIVE BY most days cuz the employees and the service sucks and it wasn't like that b4. I swear it's the Women there and it grinds my gears! U feed and serve ur CHILD how and what u want, not a PAYING CUSTOMER! I'm not even a hard customer, but I will not accept certain things and I will not slink off into some corner and just EAT IT and I will hold u accountable!! Fast food can be a Thankless job, I know cuz I used 2 be a Shift Supervisor many years ago at McDonalds South Station in Boston MA. I chose that place of employment, so it was my responsibility 2 treat people the way I wanted 2 be treated even if it wasn't reciprocated or...
Read moreI placed a mobile order and went to pick up my order. For some reason, my order wasn’t showing up in their system. I get it, sometimes technically can fail, and that’s fine. They asked me to come inside to replace my order (which made no sense to me because they could have placed my order while I was sitting their at the window, but I did as they asked without complaint). They appeared busy so I was happy to accommodate, despite my showing them evidence of my order being placed already on the mobile app and evidence that it had run my credit card already.
When I went inside, I wasn’t able to place my breakfast order, but it has just turned 11am, so I was not able to replace my order because of the cutoff time.
I went to the front to ask for assistance, and after waiting a couple of minutes the woman that asked me to get out of my car recognized me and came over. I explained the situation and she confirmed that in fact I couldn’t order breakfast anymore, so she looked at me apologetically and said there was nothing she could do.
I asked for a manager, and then she asked me if I spoke Spanish. I said no, so then she told me that she was a manager. So I asked her to go ahead and please make my order and I’ll be on the way. She kept repeating herself that she couldn’t do that because she couldn’t place the order in the system. I explained to her that it shouldn’t be my problem…after all, she was the one that sent me inside when she could have just placed the order for me when I was in my car and at the window.
At the end of the day, she got another “manager”, and they did as I asked. They made my order despite the cutoff time having been passed. But what I don’t understand is why I need to give a manager guidance on how to solve a very basic problem. I had visual proof that I placed the order and proof that I paid already.
I would not recommend this location as their management personnel are not really managers. They barely speak English and aren’t interested in managing and providing good customer service when there...
