Pho Huong Viet & Juicy King Crab House — Restaurant in Maryland

My wife and I went here for pho and the banh mi. The food was alright, very average.

The pho broth was bland, and was missing that complex flavour good pho broth has (tasted like regular beef bone broth) Portions for pho was good for the price, more than surrounding pho places for the price. The meat(brisket) was a bit tough.

The banh mi was below average and over priced. I would say a good banh mi if it was 6 dollars max, but at 10 dollars it was not worth it. The sandwich was mostly bread, which didn't have the hard crunch of a Vietnamese baguette. The toppings and filling (pork) were sparse but the flavors were good (also missing the traditional patee).

Finally, when paying there is a ~20% gratuity added (as of 28July2024) regardless of service and then a tip box immediately after. There is no communication of this anywhere. This led a bad taste in my mouth, as it's shady.

I purchased the shrimp egg noodle soup. I don’t think I can have stress enough to her how I don’t eat meat I’ve never eaten pork. I was assuring that that wouldn’t be in my food. However, when I got home, there was pork chips in my soup … so I called back asking what was the chips in my soup that’s when I was told pork chips … She automatically apologize really sweet girl and asked me to come back the next day when she was working and that she she will replace my soup “awesome “ However, when I got there the next day she Recognize me immediately and said don’t worry I’ll take care of you. I thanked her a placed another order as well as Tipped her. Waited for 15 minutes came back picked up. My food got home and realized there was no shrimp Literally, one piece of calamari and a strip of crab meat literally ….. The Moral of my story is I payed $42 and you dropped the ball. Take care of your guest and that wasn’t the case at all …. Would never return horrible...

I ordered a pick up order and upon leaving I called in another order. Spoke with Daisha (who apparently was new and had been there for 2 days). My order was incorrect and when I called to inform them it was wrong they put me on hold and sat there talking extremely disrespectful saying I just wanted free food when I really wanted my order to be correct. I had her repeat my order 3 times just because it sounded quite hectic in the store. She repeated it correctly yet still entered it incorrectly. I requested them to come pick the food up after being on the phone for 37 minutes merely explaining why the customer shouldn’t be disrespected and hear it. Never tried to rectify the situation and even in covid took the food back...
