Who doesnāt love good Fried chicken? Itās what Popeyes Louisiana kitchen is known for. And that chicken sandwich people tend to go crazy for! Which I have yet to try. My wife and I used to go there every Tuesday for their specials before Covid hit. But if youāre trying to eat healthy, this is not the place to be š¤£! But if you love fried chicken, want to treat yourself, and there isnāt a local Mom and Pop fried chicken joint or a Kentucky Fried Chicken? Then this will have to do. We wanted to eat it so bad, it was gone so fast, I forgot to take photos of the chicken. š± And the guy behind the counter was nice enough to give us an extra thigh in place of the drum, š because on Tuesday, you get a thigh and a drum for $2.99. They were hot, spicy crispy, and crunchy but, I will have to say, I was very disappointed in the size of the chicken thighs. These things were so small. It was basically done in 1 to 2 bites. Like the size of a smashed golf ball. I remember, Before they used to be nice and meaty, good and worth what you paid for. It would take us a while to eat a few. But I was very disappointed this time. Okay! Next time, I will change my review if the chicken isnāt so small. And donāt get me wrong. I understand Restaurant business! Sometimes you get what you get when you order chicken, one week the thighs are big! Next week the chicken pieces are small. Same thing happens at Dominoās Pizza when we get chicken wings. I love their baked chicken wings. Some weeks they would be huge and some weeks they would be very small, so Iām not holding this against Louisiana Kitchen personally, because Iām a chef and all, but they definitely gotta get some bigger chicken in there. #friedchicken #popeyeschicken #lovethatchicken...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter 17 years of patronizing the West St Popeyes in Annapolis, I cannot do it any longer. I went tonight because the Edgewater Popeyes was closed. A few times I have found the order taker at the drive thru rude, short tempered, lacking the ability to tune out what is happening inside the store (distracted which created errors....I was interrupted three times and waited an extended period of time), and lacking the ability to summarize the order. I do not think this person should be taking orders. On another occasion the order was incorrect, I asked for an itemized receipt at the window and was treated rudely by the manager and made to feel that it was my fault. This time an argument ensued. I asked them to void my complete order and provide a refund. The manger was not willing to provide her name. Itās a shame because this location used to be great. There is so much competition in the market place by new chicken fillet type places. The order takers at the Edgewater Popeyes and at the new chicken fillet place across the street appear well trained, patient, calm, able to explain themselves without getting defensive. The Popeyes franchise could take some time to examine who they hire and how they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have always been a fan of Popeyes chicken and have picked up or dined in 100's of times and enjoyed the food and experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case on my recent order and it may have altered my desire to order from Popeyes ever again. I ordered an 8 piece family meal through the drive thru and headed home feast. That didn't happen. The chicken was overly coated in batter and once you got to the chicken, it was basically non-existent. The wings may have had one bite of chicken each if it wasn't scorched beyond edible. The thighs were pretty much the same. The biscuits were basically hockey pucks and the mashed potatoes with gravy, which has always been good, was tasteless and sloppy. I paid $29.87 for that meal and we might have gotten enough to feed one person, and it was meant to feed three. Looks like we are back to being a Royal Farms...
