Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Maryland

I purchased a chocolate custard here over a week ago. It tasted sour like something was bad. The lady working there told me that I should throw it away. She said sometimes the machine gets funky and had me write down my name and number for the owner to call me back and refund my money. I was sick to my stomach for several hours after eating the little bit that I did of the custard. The owner didn't call me. I called back, and the same lady working there told me that the owner didn't want to call and said to tell me if I asked to just come in and get another one. This is unacceptable. I left a messaged that I excepted a call back from the owner. They never called me. I am disappointed that the owner thinks this is the best way to handle...

I look forward to them opening every year. Their sugar free options are great which, as a diabetic, is important to me. The problem is that I usually need to get some custard as well. Sometimes the carbs are worth it and this is certainly the case with Rita’s.

I love coming to this ritas. I've never had a bad experience and the ice cream is always really good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 was because they only had 1 girl working on a Friday night. She did an amazing job serving everyone but she was the only one there for close as well. Overall this is a great place to stop by after a game of mini golf at the course nearby or after dinner at one of the restaurants...
