Cottage Cafe — Restaurant in Maryland

This place is under-staffed with bad customer service and will never get my money again. I came by and there was only one high school kid working who obviously didn’t know what he was doing- it wasn’t busy but it took FOREVER to just get 2 cups. First he ignored me and started cleaning assuming I was with another group that had already ordered(that I wasn’t standing near, didnt get ice cream with, didnt talk to, nothing)- he clearly assumed we were together because we’re the same race. Then he broke the register with a simple transaction and had to call the manager to help, while my ice cream I got for my family at home was just sitting melting. And after all this barely anything but a mumbled sorry, when honestly the melted mess I took home should have been on the house. Oh and none of the caps fit on the cups they give you and there’s no mention its cash only until you get to the register. NEVER ever coming here again. Actual ice cream was okay, but not worth the trouble when there’s other good...

My coworker had recommended this place to me for many months. She lives in Linthicum and thought it was worth the drive. So, we finally went! And it was worth the drive! Ice Cream Cottage is a cute little place. It's tucked away in Arcturus in a house. It has tables with built in board games and the pieces at the tables to play. It also has a nice grass yard with picnic tables. Inside you get excellent tasting ice cream for reasonable prices. You can get just scoops in a bowl or cover. But you can also get milk shakes and sundaes! I got the excellent peanut butter sundae, which was awesome and very peanut buttery! My daughter is allergic to dairy and they had sorbet for her, which was an extra special treat! Additionally, Ice Cream Cottage has very limited real food options as well, if someone is hungry for real food. I didn't try that, just stick to the ice cream, which is awesome and width the trip from Anne...

Great, inexpensive place to take the family for ice cream! Single scoops are only $2.00 and with the number of choices available, you are sure to find something for everyone here. There are flavors that you can't find anywhere else, like Salted Pretzel (very underrated), Whitehouse Cherry, and many many more, including all the classics. This is the place to go but be warned that it is cash only and on hot summer days it is very common to have lines that extend well beyond the door! Although the seating is limited, there are picnic tables outside and a small grassy area too. In the winter, they bring back peppermint ice cream and other seasonal flavors (pumpkin pie ice cream) and there is another small building next door where the kids can visit Santa Claus! This is definitely one of our frequent haunts and one of the best values...
