We held our church banquet here in the private room area in 2022. The waitresses did a good job, but the buffet food was cold, old, and they ran out at 7 pm, halfway through our banquet meal. We told them ahead of time that we had 65 coming. We received no discount. Sorry was all we got, and half our party had to do with leftovers. I spoke to the Owner in person this year (2023) before booking the banquet room, hoping it was a fluke. He assured me that they would go above and beyond in taking care of us. I confirmed that we would again have 65 coming, the Friday before our Saturday church banquet. That Friday night at 5:30 pm, I get a call from the night manager stating they were not going to honor our reservation because they double booked with a birthday party of 20. That's right, less than 24 hrs notice. I requested they call the owner and have him call me to discuss, since he was the one who booked us and had assured me of the highest customer treatment. He never returned a call Friday or Saturday. I went in person on Saturday at 11 am opening to try to reach him or negotiate a solution. He's not in and he won't be calling you until Monday if at all. Tough luck was the attitude of the staff. For a place that charges $22 for medicocre food buffet with a drink, you'd think the customer service would be outstanding. Unfortunately not, and it starts at the top. We will not be patronizing this restaurant for our church banquet or personally as a family in the future, unless this is made right. You'll get less than you pay for. Hagerstown has plenty of other options instead of a 90s era...
Read moreI haven't been to this location in almost a decade and we decided to get dinner there tonight as a group.
Overall, the dining area was fairly clean and average to above average to competitors seating areas.
The cashier was again average, neither over the top and annoying or overly dreary and downtrodden.
The server was laid back, which is exactly as we prefer. She was attentive and kept us full on drinks.
The bar was not exactly fresh, but not gross either.
All in all, if you are okay with the dated looking theme (which honestly is the standard for these western style steakhouses), and you are okay with paying Golden Corral prices for a buffet with half of the offerings of GC, it isn't a bad place to go.
Really, the only gripe I had was the $14 buffet price for a pretty small selection. Maybe it is more worth it for a steak and the reduced buffet price ($7 I think) though.
Definitely worth $8-$10 plus drinks standalone, or worth $4ish additional with an entree like Hoss's, but it gets questionable at the current pricing in my opinion.
All in all, I'd suggest giving it a try if you are reading this and considering somewhere that you've never been to. Just be prepared to spend Red Lobster...
Read moreThis is Bubba "Big BM" Mack at the scene. The wait staff was great. Tipped her extra because of how many tables she was having to serve and she was pretty hot. She kept my glass full and made sure i was happy. Food was great!. This is a great place with great selection. I found meats, vegetables, breads, fruits and sweets. In short, the perfect BM kit was there for the making. If you make good selections you too can create a perfect BM later on. I call this a BM Kit. This isn't as easy as it looks. Careful blending of meats, fruits, beans and vegetables is needed to create that perfect BM. Indeed, after a recent colonoscopy the doctor said "your colon is spotless." I took the opportunity to do some impromptu training on assembling a proper BM Kit. The medical staff gathered around as I explained best practices in assembling a BM Kit, how to have the best BM experience possible and forging a reluctant BM with fiber. The round of applause was very gratifying. A scant 24 hours later I can tell you the proof is in the toilet. A perfect BM. Thank you! This is a great place and they produce a great BM.
