At first glance this appears to be an alright place to eat at. You wouldn't know better until you have eaten here, now we know better, "don't eat here." The silverware is horrifically and disgustingly dirty with chunks of dried on food. Our waitress brought us replacement silverware and it too was dirty. We took it to the restroom to clean it. The silverware by the really tiny salad bar is just as dirty.
To give you and idea of the salad bar size, it is approximately 18" X 12", and had lettuce, broccoli salad, artificial crab salad, 1 type of sushi roll, ginger, spices and that's pretty much it folks. If you like lettuce only, "go for it." Folks, this is a really tiny salad bar.
My wife ordered the Shrimp Hibachi with white rice. The white rice was not good, not the type you would expect from a hibachi place. The shrimp were not deveined. This is the first time I have eaten in a china or japan themed restaurant where the shrimp intestinal tract / poop was left intact. The intestinal tract can sometimes leave a foul and gritty feeling in your mouth. We did not eat them until we deveined them. I am not sure where they got their shrimp from, but most restaurant suppliers will only deliver deveined shrimp because of the presentation and sometimes taste issue, especially if you have a shrimp that was really constipated before being caught.
Service is not the greatest. Food was delivered piecemeal for all 3 guests, condiments are not given or very rationed. When you ask for YUM YUM sauce or other condiments, they didn't bring them.
Shrimp Tempura was crispy on the outside, but the shrimp on the inside felt mushy, undercooked or spoiled.
The MISO soup was cold, steak teriyaki was chewing gum tough and the sushi was not to our liking. The sushi rice needs a lot of work, maybe hire a sushi chef instead of a normal cook?
The fried calamari is delivered looking like an onion ring, and no one at our table was a fan of it. Once again, crispy on the outside, mushy, undercooked or spoiled on the inside?
Desert consisted of extremely generic, bland tasting chocolate, vanilla or strawberry ice cream cups with lids. Even Supreme Buffet has Hershey's Ice Cream and costs about $10-$14 per person with coupons.
Service was uncoordinated and hurried, food presentation was poor and bring your own condiments (yum yum sauce, tempura sauce, etc.)
Niko, Sakura, Supreme Buffet on Dual Highway are much better options and much lower prices, less hurried pace, and have a nicer atmosphere. Sushi Bomb is definitely not worth the $21 per...
Read moreHorrible first time experience for both service and food. Visited the restaurant with a friend around 745 Saturday evening. Upon walking in and to the counter, the manager at the front did not speak. After a few minutes of standing in silence, he held up his fingers for 2 still without speaking. My friend confirmed verbally we would like a table for 2. The manager informed us there is a 20 minute wait and to write down the phone number. After about 10-15 minutes we were called and approached the counter to inform them we were ready to be seated. Still, no one spoke and we were seated at a table. After about 5 minutes, the server came and without so much as saying hello asked what we want to drink. We ordered drinks as well as our first food order, 2 appetizers and 3 sushi rolls. Another 10 minutes passed and one appetizer arrived. I stepped away to the bathroom (which was filthy and smelled) and the other appetizer and 2 rolls arrived. No one stopped by to check on how things were tasting. I finally stopped our server to ask where the other roll was. He brought it right over and it was obvious it had been sitting. The deep fried roll was still slightly warm. I asked to place an order for another roll. After 20 more minutes passed without seeing our server, I stopped another to ask to speak with a manager about the experience. The manager came to the table with the roll I had been waiting on and sat it in front of me as if this was a sufficient resolution. I told him I would not be eating anything more and explained the situation with poor service and food. The manager began to make excuses about being short staffed. I asked him politely not to make an excuse but simply advise me how he can make this right. He began to state the same thing again and I cut him off to ask for his name and how he would be able to help me given the situation. He then proceeded to refuse his name and threaten me, saying “you will pay the full price or deal with what happens next”. We proceeded to pay the bill and leave, while the manager just kept repeating over and over that I would have to handle with my bank but I will pay full price and never can return. I told him there is no need to keep repeating himself as I was obviously paying the bill and had no desire to step foot back at the establishment. This entire ordeal took until nearly 910 PM and we definitely didn’t get all we could eat for $55. I took a photo of the manager since he refused his name. Please steer clear, especially if going as a group of females. This man wanted to scare us and...
Read moreCurrent price for AYCE Dinner on Christmas 2021 is $21.99.
We were seated promptly and Since we had not been there before the waitress explained how things worked. We only wanted water to drink so the waitress promptly brought us 3 glasses and then took our 1st round of order which came very quickly thereafter.
A word of caution, the appetiters come really hot so you might want to let them cool just a little before taking that 1st bite bite and the 1st bite was pretty good.
We started with Shrimp Schumai, Gyoza, and Calamari, there were 4 pieces of each we also got Steak Hibachi with vegetables, (no rice or noodles is an option they offer).
One reviewer commented the calamari looked like onion rings which is true and that is often how calamari looks, it all depends on the size squid the portions are cut from. The calamari and the other appetizers were all excellent.
The steak hibachi was quite good, a couple of the pieces of steak were on the chewy side but the flavor was very good, the vegetables in the steak hibachi were flavorful.
We had several different sushi rolls after that and shrimp hibachi, the shrimp tasted a little old to me but were still good.
They have a very small salad bar which has wasabi and Ginger on it and I did get some of that for use on my sushi, also tried the squid salad on the salad barge and it was actually quite tasty.
We finished with a couple of desserts off the salad bar which included a small cake/cheesecake slice, a coffee flavored cake slice and a couple of cups of ice cream which the waitress brought to the table and my wife ordered a dessert sushi roll which had a fried banana in the middle of it and a mango sauce.
If the shrimp had not had a slightly old taste to it they would have gotten five stars on my rating but that pulled them back to four.
We will probably go back again, but my wife is not a big eater and I try not to be but I am capable, (grin), all you can eat for my, (83 pound), wife is really not that much. If they had a senior pricing that would make it more...
