The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are great considering the quality of food. Me and my husband went earlier today and got the following: turkey basil with a side of pesto pasta, pork belly cuban with the side of pesto pasta as well, the soup tower, and a chess bar for dessert. I would die for pesto but I think doubling down with the turkey basil and the pesto pasta ended up being much for me so I saved my sandwich for later (which I'm eating as I'm tying this review and am absolutely loving it. Definitely 10/10 the herb flatbread they use for it is definitely a game changer that ill keep in mind for sandwiches I make at home) and devoured the pesto pasta and the soup tower while we were there. The soup tower came with 4oz of 4 of the soups they had, the ones I got were: the tomato, the wedding, broccoli cheddar, and the soup of the day they had which was a chili. If you like tomato soup, there's is an absolute dream, heavy on the tomato and garlic acidity and a touch of sweetness. My second favorite was soup of the day which was the chili, and that was my husbands favorite. The broccoli cheddar and wedding were also very good. Better than somewhere like Panera could even dream. The wedding was a tad oily, but the spices used were a delight. The pesto pasta is absolutely delicious, so good I had to get it again, but with my sandwich having pesto also made me really wish I had gotten the truffle Mac instead! Excited to try that next time. My husband had gotten pork belly cuban and it was cooked beautifully and absolutely tasty from the extra bite or two I stole from him. It was also huge so I would definitely recommend that for someone extra hungry or wanting leftovers for later! The deserts are made in house and damn they are good!! I'm not typically a dessert girl but after having a bite of my husbands chess bar I wouldn't have minded grabbing something extra for dessert for later, at the very least to try! For our two meals, a soup sampler, and a desert it ended up being about $45 which honestly in this day of age is a steal with the quality and genuine food dedication that you can taste . The atmosphere is delightful. There is a medium sit in area, one side has the cutest view of a hillside with wildflowers and the other side was of the maryville walkways. On the outside there is a few covered dining areas that were very nice as well. The service as well was absolute superb, everyone there was sweet and willing we answer any questions we had. I would go there every day...
Read moreWe first ate at Foothills Milling Cafe when it first opened. It was great. The food was amazing.
We have eaten there probably about 5 times so far. The past three visits the food quality has declined.
When I first ate the Pork Banh Mi sandwich it was delicious. The second time I ate it, it had an odd taste. It was way too sweet and tasted funky but not in a good way.
A similar thing happened with the Smoked Short Rib Melt. The first time I ate one, it was amazing. One of the best sandwiches I'd ever had. The second and third times were a different story. The entire sandwich is made on a sandwich press/grill and it tastes like there is way too much oil/butter on the bread. I got takeout yesterday and by the time I got the sandwich home (less than 5 minutes) the bread was soaked and soggy. The beef short rib had absolutely zero flavor. Not a hint of smoke flavor and it looks like it was braised rather than smoked. Not a hint of salt or any other flavor on the beef. It was some of the worst beef ribs I have ever had. The pimento cheese on the sandwich was also not good. I think there was too much on it and it overpowered everything else which is easy to do because nothing else had any flavor.
I'm not sure what's going on with them but the quality has definitely dropped. I'm not sure if I will ever eat...
Read moreWent in for lunch today and ordered off the website. Easy to navigate and your food is ready and waiting with no line. You pick up at the kitchen window. I got the meatloaf melt with fried onions, pimento cheese, sweet peppers and mayo. It was a flavor explosion of southern staples. The meatloaf is excellent and fried onions are a nice touch. Pimento cheese is a good complement to the meatloaf. Really a tasty sandwich. The coleslaw was outstanding as well. All packaged in takeout Tupperware with a pickel. A very nice southern treat for lunch. A little pricey but high quality food. It's a little difficult to find in the back. A very steep hill in and out of the parking lot. I reccomend ordering online for takeout as it's always busy. I highly recommend Foothills Milling Cafe for good food and...
