This was my first time here, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I came in hungry and left… well, still hungry, but also very disappointed.
I ordered the Autumn Salad, which turned out to be a bowl of arugula (bitter lettuce, for those unfamiliar) with a few scattered toppings, as if someone had sprinkled as an after thought. It was supposed to have candied pecans—spoiler alert: it didn’t. What it did have was five tiny squares of squash, about ten paper-thin radish slices, two tablespoons of cranberries, and a ghost of a dressing. Keep in mind, this sad excuse for a salad was $17.
I added chicken for an extra $5, which got me about 3 oz of chicken. I was so underwhelmed by the toppings that I politely asked the waitress if I could have a bit more. She was nice but returned with a portion so tiny it felt like a joke: three more minuscule pieces of squash and exactly five candied pecans (I counted, because at that point, why not?). I don’t normally count my food, but when there's so little of it, it’s hard not to. Spending $22 on an arugula-heavy salad and leaving still hungry just isn’t right. I’m not a big eater, so if I say a portion is skimpy, trust me, it’s skimpy.
Meanwhile, my husband ordered the "smash" burger and fries. The burger was so greasy even he could barely eat it. As for the fries, let’s just say they were few enough that I was tempted to count them too—but I showed restraint. The drink cups were fun because they were metal, but they were also so tiny that refills were frequently needed.
Our total lunch bill, no alcohol, was $45. For that price, we should have left satisfied—not feeling like we needed a second lunch. I...
Read moreCame by after a rainy day in the mountains 11/2/25 about 6 PM to check out the taproom after having their beers at One Knox games & collabs with other great breweries in Knoxville.
Unfortunately peaceful had nothing to do with our experience as there was a children's birthday party or similar event that was taking up about 50% of the indoor area. Screaming 3-6 yr old children, running amok between tables, outside (in the rain no less), and stomping and screaming on the "stage". Parents nowhere to be found or actively encouraging this behavior. Several other patrons were clearly sharing the same sentiment and decided to leave due to the absolute daycare level insanity that was taking place throughout. The lack of sound deadening in the indoor space made this exponentially worse.
I've heard and seen a few uncontrolled children at breweries in Knoxville, but this was on another level entirely. Parents, do better. Staff should've stepped in and I feel bad for anyone who decided to stay for more than 15 min. This is why places like Xul and Schulz Brau have signs and policies about this type of thing.
Bad daycare experience aside, the beer was solid, however, the food prices are extremely steep for the area. I understand that the taproom is effectively a second location of Peaceful Side Social in Townsend, where those prices make a bit more sense for tourists. $11 for fries, $15 for a bowl of chili. It's...
Read moreI live local and it's the best spot to hang in. As a diehard IPA fan, rarely changing my choice as a first timer or repeat beer nerd, I can't get away from One for Each Hand. Pairs well with the Classic Smash while sitting at the bar reading a book (yes, reading. I'm a nurse so the surrounding noises don't bother me). The team's knowledgeable and super friendly, remembering names with faces and making you feel like old friends. The pub sauce is top tier but it would be even better in a spicy version (I'm also the girl who asks for hot sauce to mix the two together 😝)! It would be nice to see an Alcoa flag hanging on the wall. ...sure, the address is in Maryville but Alcoa is literally a block away. I almost picked one up at Pokey's but I can't get banned from my favorite reading spot just because I cheer for the better team. 🌪️
I went in last night, as it has become "my spot" when I wanna sip and read after a long day at the hospital or on a weekend afternoon, and there was a gentleman at the bar who bought my first One for Each Hand. He was alone and eating when I arrived so I didn't strike up a conversation with him. I'm never one to do wild things like this in a business review, but I hope you come across this long review and we see each other again. I always have a book with me but it's not to discourage conversation with others....
