I am so disappointed. My husband and I have gone to this restaurant for years and today the service was awful. We weren’t shown to a table and just pointed to a general direction and told to pick a table. We did not receive menus and it took at least 10 minutes before a server came to take drink orders. My husband ordered fajitas and was at first brought the wrong dinner and then they came back took that one and gave him the fajitas a couple minutes later and no tortillas to eat it with. Took another 5 minutes or maybe even longer until he got up to go get some himself and then the server comes over finally and we had to ask for the tortillas. Meanwhile his food was getting cold waiting on the tortillas. Probably about 10 minutes after being served his meal did he finally receive the tortillas. Drinks ran dry. Server rarely came to check on us for anything. At check out the person running it was extremely dismissive and unfriendly (the same that “showed” us to our table. Bad experience and such a shame because this has been our go to Mexican restaurant for so long. Food is great but the service has gone downhill. I suppose we will need to find another Mexican restaurant for the future....

If I could give this place a 0 I would. This was my first time ever trying this place and I will NEVER go back.

We were told to sit by windows, so we did. A lady brought us some salsa and chips and left to bus tables. A couple minutes later another couple came in and sat by the other window, as soon as they got sat a server came out gave them menus, brought them salsa went and got their drinks, and came back and got their order. We thought okay maybe she saw them first so we waited, the server went and put in the order and then stood at the drink machine looking over the area we were in ( with only 3 tables full of ppl besides ours) and then looked at me, I looked her in her eyes and then she turned her back and went and whispered in another workers ear.

I thought ok she must be telling them to get the other server so I waited a few more minutes, the one waitress checked on all other tables and skipped over ours with me even saying "excuse me"

I felt intentionally ignored and that is absolutely horrendous customer service. I don't know if they didn't like the way we looked or what, but to sit there without drinks or menus and see a server stare at you and then serve others is mind...

Be aware to anyone who has a food allergy!!!

The incompetent cooks apparently can’t understand the concept of a FOOD ALLERGY!! We called IN ADVANCED and told them about my mothers SEVERE seafood allergy. Explained that nothing at all can be used in her food that had even touched shrimp. We have never had this issue before!

She gets her food and it’s came in contact with seafood!!!!! I called and went “Karen” on the 2 managers that were there and they called the owner. I was told the owner would call me but my phone has not rang!

That’s fine! Any and all medical bills that may come from this will be given to them! If something bigger happens to my mother from the allergic reaction, then an attorney will absolutely be made aware of that too!!!

You would think a restaurant would take an allergy more seriously! Someone should be held responsible for this incident that could have been avoided like it has been the multiple times we have eaten there!!!

Would give 0 stars if it were possible!

Update: the owner finally called. His solution? To not order food again!...

At Pancho's Mexican Restaurant in the Smoky Mountains, the Cherokee Chimichanga is an absolute delight. This massive and mouth-watering deep-fried burrito, stuffed with delectable chorizo and cheese, is a true American-Mexican treat. 🌯🧀🍴 It arrives accompanied by sides of rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream, offering a grand feast much like the surrounding landscapes. While the dish lacked a bit of colour, the flavours were nonetheless enjoyable. The blend of chorizo and cheese brought a savoury richness that tantalized the taste buds. The sides added depth to the meal, providing a variety of textures and tastes. Pancho's Mexican Restaurant showcases the essence of hearty American-Mexican cuisine, where portions are as grand as the stunning Smoky Mountains. For anyone craving a satisfying meal in an inviting atmosphere, this Cherokee Chimichanga is a must-try! 🌄🍽️

Went to Ponchos for my birthday and had lunch. This place is very nice and has a good staff. I started out with a mongo margarita that was very good. I got a two taco, beans & rice lunch special. The chicken taco on corn tortilla was very good and flavorful. The refried beans were outstanding and had some whole beans within them. Topped with a very good cheese. The rice was also top notch. Very big grains of Spanish rice cooked perfectly. I forgot to mention the chips and salsa at the beginning was delicious as well. Hard not to fill up on those with the margarita. We had six people and two had margaritas and our bill was like $38.00. Very good food and excellent prices. I highly recommend Ponchos if you like Mexican food. I'll be going back soon.

Pancho's is always a good choice. Whether you go to the Maryville location or the Chapman Highway location, you cannot go wrong. The chips and salsa, the cheese dip and the drinks are always good. The service always makes you feel welcome and comfortable. And the food is always so good you can't stop eating. Not that leaving a place feeling uncomfortably stuffed is good, but, man it's good when it's going down. Always 5 star service at Pancho's.
