Buffalo Wild Wings — Restaurant in Mason

I typically don't leave bad reviews but unfortunately our dine in experience was less than adequate. I am trying to have a level of understanding with the mandates changing constantly and I can imagine it would be a challenge to get used to more people allowed to dine in and keep up with to go orders. The gentleman at the front desk was polite and prompt and we were seated within 10 minutes. We expected to have 8 people and one member of our party was celebrating just turning 21. Our server didn't tell us her name so I'm unsure of who it was. My husband and I arrived first, she explained that the kitchen was backed up and it could be a while before we got our food. No big deal. We ordered an appetizer and drinks and waited for our other guests. The appetizer came lukewarm with no dipping sauce and we couldn't find our server to ask for some. She finally came after about 15 minutes and we asked for ranch and she didn't come back for another 20 minutes and we were hungry so we ate them before the appetizer was completely cold. Our other guests ordered an appetizer, waited another 20 minutes for drinks, she didn't take their order, we got our main dishes and their order still hadn't been taken, we were given 2 straws between all of us so my husband went to the server station and got straws himself. We were given no napkins so again, another member of our party got up and got napkins for us himself and the other servers who were around didn't even notice him literally getting his table their own napkins. We were ignored 100% by everyone working. I had spicy wings and had nothing to drink during my meal so I couldn't even enjoy what I did have until it was cold. We told the other guests of our party not to even show up because it was just terrible service. The manager finally came around and at this point my husband was already upset. We had no drinks for 30 minutes at this point, our guests order hadn't been taken, the sauce he ordered didn't come with his meal, and there was only 4 of us the majority of the time. One more person did come but we were all already upset and he just got his food to go, and it was his birthday. Oh and then a main dish did finally come out after that which was already ruined. All around it was just awful. Either some staff re-training would be beneficial or perhaps have more servers on the floor and cooks in the back because it was very unsatisfying and...

I’m a server myself, so I’m extra understanding of when a server is busy, but last night, it seemed like my server disappeared entirely after my boyfriend and I received food. His drink sat empty for quite a few minutes, enough that he sipped from mine, and the only other servers I saw were in the bar area and impossible to flag down. Then, we sat for 10 minutes or so without a check after we’d finished eating. She bounced back to check in with, ”how are you doing?” but was walking away before I could even open my mouth. So we sat for another few minutes until I finally got up and started to look for someone. My server saw me and stopped back after she dropped off the things in her hand and I asked for the check and the manager. The manager came out almost immediately, but the check still came after another ten minutes.

The extra disappointing part for me was that I’ve had this server before and had a similar problem and spoken with a manager both times and been offered a $5 coupon and some half-hearted apologies. I don’t want free food, I want you to discipline your staff! Or perhaps instead of wandering around in your coat with one foot in the door and one foot out the entire night, help your waitstaff? This is the second meal I haven’t enjoyed and there are too many better restaurants in that price range for me to put up with mediocre service. I get that it’s Bdubbs, but I still expect prompt service, if not good service. I still tipped her 20%, but if she had said, ”Hey, I’m really slammed. Is it cool if I set a refill here for you and your check, so you aren’t waiting on me while I get their food out?” or something, I would have easily tipped 30-50% of my bill. She was friendly, but friendly doesn’t cut it for me in this situation. You have to move with some kind of purpose, too. Turning tables is a hustle and if you can’t or won’t hustle, you’re in the wrong...

First off, we like this place. As a bar that plays loud pop music over sports, it’s got a decent value. But obviously that’s not why we come here.

The fact that they NEVER play sports audio (unless it’s a Bengals game) is wearing on us. We come most Mondays for $3 pints (AMAZING value) and enjoy it as a whole… however, ironically, do NOT go here for sports. The fact that they’re the “Official Bar of March Madness” is crazy and is a title that should be revoked.

Actually, any thoughts of going here to watch and experience sports outside Bengals games should be eliminated. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IN MASON.

We’ve asked many, many, many times to play audio for sports that are on TV and are constantly declined. Even if I wanted to hear the audio of the local high school chess competition, which I don’t, THAT should be prioritized over pop music.

I get that they have a bar to run… but the fact that they don’t play sports audio outside of Bengals games is wild. And during opening week of MARCH MADNESS!?!? That’s real madness…

It’s a good “regular” bar with TVs that plays pop music over sports audio, but it ceases to be a sports bar when we can’t hear sports. I continue to wrestle with the idea that you would install 100 TVs just to never play sports audio during most sporting events.

4 star bar - 0 star sports bar - 2 stars it is.

I write this review in hopes that they fix this (because asking them numerous times in person hasn’t yielded anything) and I can raise the review to what they deserve.
