5 stars. From the service to the food I absolutely loved my experience here. I walked in today (08/02/2025) around 6pm intending to order a meal to go since I had just finished a workout and I didn’t have my husband with me. When the kind gentleman greeted me and said “pick whichever table you’d like” I decided what the heck let me just dine in. IM SO GLAD I DID. I wish I got his name but the man who greeted me (I’m guessing the owner?) was such a delight. As a plus size black woman it’s hit or miss what sort of service I’ll receive but the atmosphere was so welcoming and inviting.
Now to the food. I knew I was in for a treat when I tasted the complimentary salsa. Omg it was so good. I usually only let myself eat 2 chips so that I don’t fill up prematurely but I almost ate the whole bowl. I ordered the Birria Tacos and the Birria Ramen (yes I know, that’s a lot of food) but I was curious and the pricing is actually good. I demolished my tacos. I was going to try to be cutesy and save some for my husband to try but I kind of went savage on them. They’re huge and 3 is extremely filling. The Ramen was also amazing. The meat inside is tender and all the flavors together are just so perfectly blended. I just got home and I’m already thinking about when I can go back.
At the end of my meal I spoke with the kind man who greeted me and he was talking about their specialty drinks. He let me try the fermented pineapple drink and I immediately asked for one to go after tasting it. It’s a lot like kombucha I think (I’ve never had kombucha but I have smelled it and so I’m essentially a kombucha connoisseur). If you’re the nice man that greeted me today I’m so sorry I said “oh so it’s like kimchi but a drink” I should have said kombucha lol
All in all I had an amazing experience here. PLEASE check it out. I want this place to thrive. I’ll be back soon...
Read moreI was excited to finally get to CDMX. Having lived in the Southwest and hearing about the food I was truly excited. I usually don't leave a full review after a first visit, but this experience needed to be reviewed. We went on Wednesday (For $1 tacos); the place wasn't busy and looked well staffed. Our table server greated us immediately and offered up excellent suggestions. We made our order. First, two of our drinks came out incorrectly, no biggie. We ordered chips and pico at the time of our taco orders. My wife had to ask about the appetizer after 15 minutes and it still took another 10 to get it. Our food didn't come out together. The first two came out; only one was correct. That one went back and didn't come out for another 10 minutes with the other missing one. We really didn't see our initial server after he took our order. Another server apologizied for the service. The food was decent, but not what I was expecting. I won't likely return. There are other Mexican restaurants in the area that really do work on their craft. I didn't get...
Read moreWent for an early Monday lunch today after hearing about it. Was very pleased! The staff brought tiny samples of the horchata, tepache and aqua fresca and I ended up buying a tepache. Fantastic drink! They also explained how they like to eat the cucumber slices and its probably my new favorite way to eat cucumber! I had a chicken and steak taco (going to try birria and chorizo next) and they were both so flavorful but not greasy at all. Everything felt light and fresh. I didn't leave feeling stuffed and heavy like Mexican food can sometimes feel. The blue corn tortillas were probably my favorite thing as something that really stands out from other mexican restaurants around. They are made in house and are soft and pliable and didn't fall apart. They are what they use to make their chips as well, which are also awesome. I can't wait to come back and try more...
