We had just left kings island and wanted a really good lunch. Typed in pizza or Italian into Yelp and this place has the best reviews. Ambiance of the restaurant is just cool.. the bathrooms mimic Subway cars and the restaurant is just cool with happy people. Service was wonderful- friendly, professional and overall great experience. I cannot remember our waitresses name but she was super friendly- and a new teacher to Mason- congrats. I love that you can get Chicago and New York type pizzas here. Both were pretty good. We love a good cheese pizza and that can be hard to find. :). This place definitely makes the top ten as far as flavor but I found the New York pizza a bit buttery/greasier then I’d like. It was pretty good not but not a good cold pizza for me. As far as the Chicago pizza, it’s been about a decade since I have had Chicago pizza and I thought this was good but not as good as I remember from back then. The crust was a bit drier then I would like but otherwise the flavor was really good. We also got the cheese bread and loved it! At the end of the night when we were talking I asked him what his favorite part of the meal was and it was the same as mine— the house salad we shared…. Super fresh, basic but a bit of everything we like in a salad and the dressing was really good.. We were so full at the end but the small little donut holes they bring out at the end are just wonderful- light balls of goodness.. loved them!! Ate way too much so overall- awesome! Also, he ordered more alcohol then normal and I suspect it’s because 1. I am the driver and i don’t drink. 2. They gave him a couple samples and he LOVEd the Irish one and had a couple beers :)

Saw this place in an article about good restaurants in the Cincinnati area. Being from Dayton, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to visit. Today was that day. Ordered the Legendary Parmesan Fries ($7.99) as an appetizer. First thing you notice is how crispy they are. They are seasoned with Parmesan and garlic and come with ranch dipping sauce. The appetizer could probably satisfy up to three people. For my pizza, I got a small “New York’s Finest” ($11.95). It had pepperoni, bacon, sausage, yellow onions, green peppers, mozzarella, and classic red sauce. It also came with mushrooms, but I substituted those with banana peppers. It was very good and a perfect size for one person. Now, this wasn’t exactly “New York Style” pizza - large slices that you can fold, but it had a great crispy crust, the mozzarella cheese pulled right (didn’t come off the entire slice with one bite), and the toppings tasted fresh. Highly recommend. Keep this in mind if you have a large party. We got there about 12:30pm on a Friday. We had a large party (over 10) and we were told it would be about a 20-30 minute wait. They only have two tables they can push together to seat said large group. We were waiting for people eating at one of those tables to leave, but they were taking their time. After waiting over 45 minutes, we ended asking to be seated separately. They were able to seat us near each other, which was acceptable because we were hungry.

First time visiting shortly after a Friday opening prior to lunch and they're already busy. Sat at bar. Available tap beers are from local breweries. Had a pint in warm glass as they do not chill or freeze glasses. New York style pizza was great tasting first couple of bites in then you're left will a lot of chewy crust. Not enough toppings or cheese. Wish they gave option for edge-to-edge toppings as the crust flavor blends excellent with the toppings. Parmesan fries are top notch as for an appetizer had a kids meal which includes production cheese sticks - will pass next time. No option for hot pizza sauce unless you order meatball sauce which is unique. The building interior is art deco style from the 1930's and I really like the creative decor within including the Subway restrooms with public announcements, nice touch! Only interacted with bartender and manager both we very professional and seemed to really care about the customer which led to an overall pleasant experience. Highly recommend. Be warned parking is tough and long waiting times to be expected during peak times. Looking forward to try there outdoor seating once weather warms. Photo shows their large pizza with a lot of open space...

So we dined in tonight and the food was absolutely delicious. We both got a house salad to start and their house made ranch was awesome. Then we both got a 9 inch deep dish because we wanted separate toppings and they can’t do half and half which we understand and those were also great with leftovers to take home. The service wasn’t exceptional but it wasn’t bad either. They were obviously busy and it showed but we still got everything we needed.

There were two things that surprised me though. A couple came in ahead of us and went to sit in the bar but before he did he asked the hostess if it was supposed to look like a subway station in there. Maybe the girl didn’t hear him but she turned to another girl who worked there and they said no that it used to be (and they really struggled here and were trying to come up with the answer) and finally said some government building or something. They guy was like, ah okay and kind of laughed and walked away. You may want to remind your staff it was a City Hall but yes it is decorated to resemble a Subway.

Also we were surprised by the credit card processing fee on the check. I took a survey as we were leaving and they asked what they could do better and I mentioned not charging a credit card processing fee. I quickly got a generic long response as to why they charge the fee and haven’t raised prices and so on and so forth. Bottom line is if you pay so much in merchant service fees that you have to pass some of that cost on to the customer, in my opinion you need to find a different processor. Tip if you pay cash you do...
