Art by Deepa — Attraction in Mason

My daughter recently attended the teen art camp with Art by Deepa and absolutely loved it. Every day offered something different—clay work, rock mandalas, printing with rollers and natural textures and each of these projects introduced her to a new technique or medium. As a parent, I especially appreciated how much intention Deepa brought to her teaching. She was incredibly patient and encouraging, meeting each student where they were. What truly sets Deepa apart is her patient teaching approach and the lovely studio environment she has cultivated where creativity can flourish. The camp went beyond just art instruction and also incorporated mindfulness elements that made it feel like a complete creative and emotional reset. At the end of each session, students practiced yoga and learned calming techniques like "bee breathing" to manage stress. My daughter found these moments incredibly grounding and came home with tools she continues to use. She loved connecting with other teens in this supportive, relaxed environment and was so proud of the gorgeous art pieces she created there.

In addition to the camp, I also purchased one of Deepa’s original art prints for our home—an abstract yet vivid depiction of Kathakali, a classical dance form from Kerala. I already have two Kathakali-inspired pieces, and the moment I saw this one—with its bright, vibrant colors and expressive style—I knew it had to be part of my collection. I had the privilege of talking to Deepa for a class for my 6 year old daughter. We instantly connected on the phone and today I met her in person at the art fair in Deerfield township. Her art is beautiful and exquisite. I did a mandala art at her booth and wow the result was amazing. I couldn’t believe I did it . She is an excellent teacher and her passion for art shines through in each of her pieces. She is also very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend her and can’t wait to visit her...

I went for a Jewelry painting event at Art by Deepa recently and came away with a pair of pretty ear-rings that I plan to wear soon :-)

The owner Deepa is very knowledgeable about different painting techniques and is an awesome teacher. She is patient and enthusiastic.

She helped me design the jewelry and taught me the various dot painting techniques on Canvas.

I found the experience of painting therapeutic and enjoyable!
