First time eating here, ever, and I grew up 3-4 blocks away!! I "lived" at "The Bottoms" in Jr. High (40+ yrs ago) and never ate there. šŸ˜” They have always had a great reputation. I gotta admit, a lot better than I was expecting!! Newly remodeled and looking like they are ready for another 50 years of success!! Portions are large. I like my omelets loaded with the ingredients into the egg. For a "folded omelet," the egg was fluffy, but the meat and veggies just fell out. šŸ˜” Corned beef hash was a stretch for me. The meat itself was what it was. I struggled with the use of shredded "hash browns" over using the delicious fluffy hash browns/home fries that came with my omelet. It was dry on dry. I've definitely had worse, and it wasn't canned!! The Carmel Apple French Toast thingy... yeah... Home Run!! Service was spot on. Attentive, conversational, and pleasant. She seemed to enjoy her work! šŸ‘ šŸ‘ The renovations are beautiful! Very cosey atmosphere!! My uncle got the Country Fried Steak. I will return and I will order that!! It looked amazing!!

We love going to family owned restaurants over the big chain restaurants .. this was our 1st visit here .. but definitely not our last .. social distancing was being implemented .. and sanitizing measures were being applied .. our waitress Raynee was very helpful on recommendations .. portions were large, prices were very reasonable .. every thing we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great .. I ordered the liver w/onions, mashed potatoes, and green beans .. they give you the option of 1 or 2 pieces of liver .. I made the mistake and ordered 2 pieces of meat(to much food for me) .. it was all delicious .. Johnnie ordered the all you can eat fried fish .. I won't lie, I tried a bite of the fish, and some of his fries.. and it was delicious ..the fish wasn't greasy, it was fried to perfection, and the coleslaw was fantastic ..

Good food for what they offer, however I don't think their variety of choices are enough to keep me coming back as frequently as I do other places. Don't get me wrong I do plan on returning I just wish they would expand and improve their menu. Service was fast and friendly. However I didn't enjoy listening to my servers home drama while eating my dinner. Wish her and the other server could have taken their conversation to a break room or outside. Not much of an atmosphere. Parking in the front can be a challenge as you are dealing with a major road with heavy traffic. I would strongly recommend Parking in the back. My dinner was served hot and was very delicious. Can't go wrong with chicken parm. Mt gf had the bacon cheeseburger. Her only complaint was that it was to big and she wished they offered a smaller burger.

Ordered a take out, because I have health issues and told the hostess / server who took my order that I wasn't able to come the day before ( my birthday ) because I was not feeling well but had managed to force myself to get a take out today. Ordered a roast beef sandwich, with extra side of gravy and extra side of beef. Was told it would be 10 minutes or maybe less. After 30 minutes of waiting someone asked if I was waiting for a take out. By this time I was becoming very annoyed and irritated. I have extreme breathing problems and have to raise my voice to start with to get the words out. The person informed me I didn't have to be rude ( even though it was 3x longer than was told when I placed the order. I also seen people that had sat down at tables they came in after me they were eating their meals. The person went back to check came back out asked if I had paid what my name was and did I have a receipt I informed her I had paid and had a receipt and gave it to her. She returned about 5 minutes later with a takeout bag and handed it to me. I asked her why did it take 35 minutes for me to get a takeout when I was initially told 10 minutes, to which her reply was I didn't have the rude they were busy and she was just trying to help me. Obviously they weren't so busy that the people that walk in after me they were eating their meals weren't . When I got the meal home I had the extra side of gravy I had the dinner no extra side of meet was in the bag. After my experience with them I didn't even bother to call and tell them that I didn't get the meat that I was charged for I don't think I will ever go back I wouldn't recommend anybody else to go back. I managed restaurants for 16 years in major markets from Detroit to Miami for up to five star restaurants. I know what happened the kitchen lost the ticket and I was forced to wait I didn't get an apology I didn't get a here can I give you a slice of pie I didn't get here can I give you a drink to take with as an apology I didn't get here I'll give you 10% off the next time you come in all I got was we were busy and I was being rude. Don't know who the woman was I spoke to but she doesn't have any business working in the front of the house. And if she's the owner I'm surprised the place is successful as...

Service and atmosphere are pretty much what you would expect from a small, local, greasy-spoon type of restaurant. My problem is that I don't know why I keep going there thinking, "this time will be different." My food, once again, arrived cold. "Swiss steak" was more like microwaved-a -long-time-ago chopped steak saved from the bin. Mashed potatoes also cold. Hot gravy poured over top, I guess to make the other items warmer? Why was my appetizer served (cold) with the meal, instead of before it? Why was my veggy the appetizer? Why did the guy who ordered after me get his food first? Oh, yah, because mine was back there on the counter getting cold. Why did I even tip? This time, I am fully convinced that this restaurant will not be getting any more of my money. By the way, I paid in cash. I did NOT "take care of a problem with a declined card by paying cash." I paid cash. No card at all in the picture, before, during or after. So I don't know who you think you're responding to about the card that was declined but it certainly was not me. Stop trying to discredit me by saying my "credit was declined." There was never a card involved. Cash only. Food was cold and gross, service was lousy, and I will never go back. I had just worked a long shift at work. I was exhausted and did not feel like making a case with the waitress. I just wanted to eat and go home. The problems I encountered were the absolute bare minimum expectations for dining out. Since a similar thing had happened several times in the past, I think it was time for an honest review. Also you spelled...

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. The food is amazing, and the service is top-notch!

My son always gets the pancakes. He eats them with just butter. Just a warning - they are the size of a dinner plate!

I love all of their breakfast items. But my favorite is their liver & onions. The portion is huge, and they somehow manage to get a crust on them without making the liver chewy.

They serve Pepsi products, some beer, and mimosas. I always get their coffee because it is delicious.

I'm adding an edit as I have just used TOV for a catering order.

I needed to order meals for a golf outing that I was hosting. I spoke with Donna, and she guided me through the order process, making it easy for me as I've never placed a catering order before. I even had to up my order a couple of times because people kept RSVPing that'd they come after my cutoff period. Donna was great at accommodating that.

I went with their BBQ package. I had pulled pork and chicken, roasted red potatoes, and green beans. Everything was amazing! I had quite a few comments on delicious the food was. They have THE best green beans around!

Donna was quick and efficient with the setup. I did not have any servers at my event but needed it set up quickly due to not knowing exactly when the golfers would be coming through.

If you are looking to have delectable food that your guests will love, please reach out to Top of...
