I had my birthday here with my family and it was excellent. The food was delicious.
We started with the guacamole. I got the Mexican tacos with steak and with cilantro and onions. My family also got the chicken mole, quesadillas, enchiladas, and the taco salad. All of the food was delicious. The steak was cooked and seasoned absolutely perfectly. My kids got kids meals which they both loved. The fries surprisingly were awesome. We got churros and fried ice cream for dessert. We loved everything we ate and the prices were reasonable for all of the food you get.
They made a big deal for my birthday. They sang with mariachi music playing, a sparkling candle and gave me a sombrero to wear. They sang in both English and Spanish and gave me a dessert. It was so much fun and made it feel special. A very memorable moment.
I will be definitely be going back here and recommend it for a good dinner out, the celebration of an event or even catering for a group. The food is amazing and filling, and the owners are very kind...
Read moreVisited Abyâs last night and it was a total miss for me. I move to this area last year and have heard great things about this place and was excited to try it after the reopen.
The food took forever to come out, and when it did, my food was on the table about 15 minutes before my wifeâs.
The fish tacos were bland and came with just appeared to be cilantro. No flavor at all. Even worse was the fact they were cold as I was waiting for my wife's food to come before digging in. Also they give you a tiny amount of rice.
The room was large, stark, and about 10 degrees too hot. The server was friendly and apologetic to every table within an earshot. People were visibly frustrated.
Waiting 45 minutes to have one of two entrees served and waiting an additional 15 minutes for the second, would be more bearable if I was enjoying a margarita or two, but only soft drinks available. Itâs a shame as the Mexican food in this area leaves a lot to be desired. Anyone saying this is good Mexican food...
Read moreAbys Mexican restaurant is located in Matawan, New Jersey and it is a must-go location if you're in the area. Our server was Scotty and his service was fantastic. Simply fantastic with also giving his favorite suggestions as well. He was a very nice gentleman and truly cared for his guests to have the best experience possible. All meals come with chips and salsa which is fantastic since an Appetizer is included with your meal. To upgrade the chips and salsa I would suggest adding the guacamole to enhance your taste buds. For my entrÊes, I ordered the chimichanga which is a deep-fried burrito served with your choice of meat and I chose chicken which was delicious. It's also covered with cheese and your choice of sauce in which I got the creamy Chipotle sauce which also comes with rice and beans. This meal is to die for and a staple dish when it comes to Abys. A huge shoutout to Elias, Coco, Manny, Aby, and Scotty for allowing us to Dine here tonight. Starving.Schiano rating review 10...
