Let me begin by saying that we have enjoyed dining at Char Bar for several years and at more than one location. However, on August 16th, we had one of the worst experiences that I have ever had at any restaurant. We ordered 2 burgers medium well (slight pink inside) and a beer. My burger was ordered without a bun. When the food arrived, my burger was on a hot plate and the side of kale slaw was in a dish on the plate with it. The slaw wasn't cold and the burger was overly salted and cooked very well done. I told our server and she apologized and told the female manager on duty. After several minutes, the manager came by and apologized, offered me more slaw and stated that she would get me a new burger immediately! She clarified how I wanted it cooked and I waited and waited. What was supposed to be a few minutes to cook a burger turned into 25 minutes and a final offer of just a to go order "since I already had the other burger!?" What?!?? I was so angry that I just agreed to get it to go and asked the manager for a bun also because I realized that once I got home and properly chilled the burger for leftovers that it would be overcooked once again when reheated properly. I was more than frustrated and we paid the tab in full and tipped our server as it wasn't her fault that this happened. The responsibility was the managers and she did a pathetic job of correcting and serving me. The real crisis and upset began 2 days later when I went to open the bag and to go container to heat up this meal for my husband fir lunch. To my absolute horror, I found that the burger had a large bite that had been taken out of it before it was packed and sent home for me to eat! Oh my God! In this Covid world, I just couldn't wrap my mind around how anyone would do such a thing! I took several pictures of this atrocious "burger" meal and called the manager immediately. I was enraged and disgusted. We drove to the restaurant which is only 5 minutes away and let him examine the evidence and take pictures. After initially denying that any worker in their kitchen would do "something so stupid" he now was at a loss for words. You can even see what appears to be teeth Mark's through the melted pimento cheese going into the burger and there is no way that this is anything other than the obvious here. Gross and potentially Covid nasty! The HR lady called me from corporate to "get my version" of what happened as if there is any other explanation! She assured me that the owner would be contacting me. Hello!!!! I'm still waiting for that call and sure glad that I didn't hold them to that professional standard. Failure to take this seriously and make sure that I was taken care of with a nice apology and gift card is just pathetic!!! The Health Inspector sure too it seriously and I made sure to email the pictures of it as well. Good luck getting Char Bar to do the right thing and to give you...

tl;dr: Had to go to bar to order my own food, steak, fish, and fries arrived at room temperature. Spent 70 dollars on this. It is likely we will not return. My wife and I had thought about visiting several times in the past, as it's very close to us. Tonight was our first visit. We stopped by Pour 64 before coming over, as it 's a frequent haunt of ours. Right off the bat, we noticed it was a bit busy, as it was the night before St. Patty's day.
After signing up for the 5-10 minute wait, we noticed a set of super comfy looking couches and chairs near a gas fireplace, and asked about them. I was told that it (by three separate people) was first come first serve, and had food and bar service. I waited 15 minutes for a server, and finally ordered a drink from the bar. After 10 minutes of waiting, I ordered food from the bar, and after five minutes more, my wife a chocolate martini as well. While I waited about ten minutes for the martini, during which time a gentleman began to nearly pass out at the bar due to what seemed a medical condition.
That solved, I sat down to enjoy the beer I was missing, and to wait for our food. When it arrived, it was cold (room temperature is cold to a warm blooded human). The only actually warm item was my baked potato. All told we spent 70 dollars on food and tips.
Pretty bad first impression. It's not likely we...
Read morePlaced a pick up order, and on the phone they stated it would be a 16 minute wait. It took me thirty minutes to get to the store, so I figured by then the order would be ready. Get to the counter and give my name, and the lady said it would only take another five minutes before it’s ready. Which is fine, no biggie, they were busy. Ten minutes pass and I get a phone call that the order is ready, I tell the lady on the phone that I am at the front of the restaurant and she stated to walk to the bar. As I’m walking I see the girl at the bar hang up her phone. So I assume that’s who I was speaking too. I tell her that I’m picking up my order and she gives me a blank stare and tells me to hold on a moment, then turns to other employees and starts up a conversation about a table. Another bar tender walks up and the girl tells him to help me because she “doesn’t want to deal with it”. He goes into the kitchen and another waitress walks out saying they never had my order in the first place and that I must have called another location. Obviously the staff here needs help in communication and customer service. I’ve never had someone tell me that they didn’t want to deal with me, I’ve worked in resteraunts for years. I don’t mind little mistakes and even if it was my fault, that’s fine. But to not want to deal with it? Find...
