This is a very nice place. Neat and clean inside. The food was very good. My wife had the chicken salad croissant with fries. She also had a salad on the side. It was cold and crisp, she really enjoyed it. I had the hamburger horseshoe. It came with either a salad or soup. I choose the cheeseburger soup. It was quite good. The horseshoe beef patty was excellent with great flavor. The fries were good and the cheese sauce was ok. Certainty had better sauce but it was good overall. Too many other items to try next time so I'd probably not order the H.shoe again for a while I forgot menu pics. They have quite a selection. But I love the way each style of food is broken down into it's own section with just a few choices, which is really nice. For example, one spot has Italian with just a few choices, then stir fry had it's own section with a few choices. It's very easy to figure out what's available. And it's not pages and pages of items. Just a few of each type. It's much harder to choose an item when it all looks so good. You really need to stop in and try it. All that with 2 waters was $22.93 Highly recommend. We will return for sure. Service was kind and attentive. Food came out fast and hot.

Came here with a group of 10 hailing from across GA, IL, and CT on a weekday with minimal notice. Incredible service from the whole waitstaff, and choosing what to order was difficult due to the extensiveness of the menu. After much deliberation I went with the Mattoon’s Favorite (fried pork tenderloin, sausage gravy, and eggs) with cheese and grilled onion hash browns and a biscuit—as an Illinoisan by birth raised in Georgia, it felt right, and it truly was a comforting delight. The portion sizes were quite generous and not painful on the wallet (slightly cheaper than a similarly sized portion at Waffle House and lightyears better in quality). I added a generous amount of their signature hot sauce—not very spicy, somewhat similar to Taco Bell’s, but with a more well-refined flavor profile. They sold bottles at the register so I had to jump at the chance to purchase one and bring it back hundreds of miles back home. If I ever end up in the area again, I know exactly where to go!

Eggs Benedict and chef's omelet are both good, gravy has no sausage in it. Milk was cold and with ice, as requested. The dining room could have used a light cleaning but not bad. Restroom was acceptable but also could have stood a scrubbing. 5-31-2025 This is our 2nd visit, so that should say something in itself. My gyro and feta omelet with that Tzatziki sauce was loaded with meat and cheese from end to end. I ordered a side of sausage gravy to put on top but preferred the tzatziki sauce. George had the meat lovers omlet, it was piled up with ham, bacon, sausage, and cheddar cheese. Hash browns were actually brown and really tasty. Our friends had chili, cheeseburger soup, tenderloin sandwich and lasagna and ravioli. The chili looked and smelled great, with good report, while the cheeseburger soup seemed to lack pizzazz, the tenderloin was tender and cooked crispy, lasagna and ravioli were thick and meaty with a slightly tangy red sauce and garlic toast.

We gave Honey Bee Cafe one final chance tonight after the last time a waitress bumped up her own tip on our ticket. So we gave it about six months and came back for one last time. Food was ok at best but what got us was the waitresses standing up at the front area by the cash register (completely open area) talking about customers and one of the girls said she told a customer earlier to shut the F up and went on about different situations and cussing nonstop! Mind you we have a 5 year old with us so when we check out I let one of the other girls know that when they talk upfront it carry’s through the restaurant. And they should tone it down a little. She looked dumbfounded and confused although she was right there when the other girl was ranting for a good 10 minutes. As soon as we turned to walk out they started talking about us too… Customer service is what keeps you in business and with so many small businesses struggling, management might want to get a hold on that or they will be closed to! We will not be back and I know they don’t care they made that clear but if they continue others will follow...
