Pulled up to this spot (which is already a favorite) during the false alarm missile crisis of 2018. The baristas, with their shocked looks told me they were going to take refuge inside the Home Depot. I was like "yeah me too, this is cray. But uhh... can I get coffee first?" After receiving an astonished look back, I told them "I'm kidding of course". However if there truly was a missle coming, a coffee would've been nice. I went into home depot and shortly after the baristas followed, with my delicious Americano in hand. Now I was the one with the astonished look. Read morePersonally I always tend to get black coffee or an Americano on my first visit. This ensures I have the chance to enjoy the full flavor of the select coffee/espresso bean the shop features. Akamai in Maui was bold, hot, and strong! The staff, three friendly young women, were fantastic. This shop features a drive thru and a walk up window. While I only left with an Americano and a delicious pull apart cinnamon roll, they offer a chai latte that is made from concentrate using their "secret recipe." I am sure it is fantastic! I had severe food poisoning so asked them for an extra cup so I wouldn't get my companion sick, and they happily obliged. Unfortunately they didn't have the common courtesy to make me aware they were going to charge me an extra $0.50 shared/split cup cost.
