Millyard Hamburger Steak House — Restaurant in Maui

I've been here once years ago but never wrote a review. I was craving hamburger steak, so what better reason to give them another try?

ATMOSPHERE: The simple, small eatery is located at the entrance of the Millyard industrial park in a small strip mall. There are only two 4-seat tables inside and a take-out counter. I'd guesstimate 99% of the business is take-out.

MENU: Hawaiian local, Korean dishes, seafood, chow fun, burgers, saimin, and soups.

FOOD: Loco Moco The 2 big homemade patties were moist with a great charred flavor and texture, covered in a medium-dark brown gravy that could've used a pinch more of salt, and topped with a medium-fried egg. The steamed rice was good. The mac salad was overcooked, under-flavored and peppery.

SERVICE: The owner is a nice guy, very friendly and personable.

Now im givng two stars because the food at least tasted good. But for me they lose three stars due to portion/price ratio, and the uncle in the back cooking. Had attitude like he didnt even wanna be there. And seemed like he didnt enjoy his job. For the food. Like i said it was good. But 20$ for spicy chicken plate, only to get not even 2 chicken. In my opinon even with rising prices nowadays is crazy. This was my first time. Ill probably try em again to reconfirm. But at the moment. For todays food. Idve rather got a mini bbq chicken from L&L and put some Tabasco on it. To get my moneys worth. So far if u in the area. I recommend just going up the ramp next door to the noodle shop. The prices on their website menus are incorrect and probably from a few years ago, so when I ordered by phone the total cost was about double of what I expected.
