I worked with wedding coordinator, Kendall Oreta, of A White Orchid Wedding in Maui, HI for my Maui destination wedding. She and A White Orchid Wedding were actually recommended to us initially as a top planner from a 5 star resort here. I interviewed several of their recommendations and Kendall was the only one that blew me away. Where to even begin… I was one of the lucky COVID brides who started planning my dream wedding in 2019 with Kendall, to be delayed twice, with a final wedding date of May 2021. I have several friends who were also COVID brides and I can tell you from firsthand knowledge, none were as lucky or were in the same hands that we were; not even close. And that is all because of Kendall. I have never worked with someone before who is so genuinely kind and positive, works as hard, is as dedicated to making your dreams come true, and who I respect more. Truly. Not once during the multiple reschedules, shifting venues and vendors, and the chaos of planning this wedding over a two year period did she ever become fazed or waiver in our planning process. And as a result I put a LOT of trust in her… I delegated pretty much every last detail to her because we moved to two different states during those two years and I had a lot on my plate and not for a second did I second guess that decision. She is an absolute professional and hands down one of the most patient and most attentive to detail people I have ever met. I always talk to people who lament over how stressful the wedding planning process is and honestly, I just could never relate to them. Not even in the smallest of ways. That is 100% because of Kendall. When we finally walked into our welcome reception and wedding ceremony space/reception space after two years of anticipation… I wept with tears of joy and gratitude. It was not just everything I had dreamed of, it was more. I could never have executed in the way she did or dreamt up even a fraction of the beauty she created. It was like looking into a high end luxury wedding magazine. Every single guest, including ourselves, is still talking about it being the best wedding they have ever been to, bar none. And it wasn’t just our wedding. It was an entire week of wedding events that Kendall put together for us flawlessly. We got to know Kendall very well during the planning process and I can’t imagine having worked with anyone else. And that’s just the kind of person Kendall is. She is empathetic when you need her to be, she is laser focused when you need her to be, she is literally EVERYTHING you need her to be in the planning process. If you are lucky enough to work with this woman and A White Orchid Wedding, absolutely jump at the opportunity and breathe a deep sigh of relief. You will...

My partner and I always wanted an Hawaiian wedding and being from Canada, we weren't even sure where to start. We found some great reviews on White Orchid Weddings and decided to get in touch with them about helping us plan our big day.

Our Wedding Planner was Jackie Ishikawa. Let me tell you, this lady is very special. Her personality is caring and encouraging. Jackie is also a logistics queen. We started working with Jackie several months before our wedding. We had regular calls and during every call, she kept us on track about what we needed to focus on in between each check in. She came prepared to every call and was always able to respond to our emails very quickly throughout the month as well.

Being a same-sex couple, we were a little concerned with having our wedding in a very public space (like a hotel). Jackie came with some great suggestions and recommended that we host our wedding at a private estate. Her suggestion of the Olowalu Plantation House turned out to be even more amazing than we expected (looking at the photos we could find of other events there, none of them did the venue or the view justice).

Jackie was also very knowledgeable about the best vendors on the island, and provided us with a handful of options for each type of vendor we needed. All we had to do was share with her our vision and she took care of the rest. She was also very helpful in working on our behalf with our vendors to help us stay within our budget.

As we approached our wedding day, our officiant unfortunately passed away unexpectedly - Jackie called us directly to let us know and came prepared with a couple of alternative reverends that were available on our day. She dealt with a sad and potentially stressful situation very professionally.

The day itself was magical and, looking back, the only thing we would have changed would be to make it a bit longer. Everything was set beautifully as planned and went off without a hitch. From the ceremony to intermezzo reception, to the dinner and finally dance - it was perfect. Jackie's team was professional, full of smiles and very welcoming and accommodating.

The last piece I want to share is that we (as a couple) can stress a lot, often about little things; however, we went into our wedding with very little stress. With Jackie's preparedness and regular check-ins, everything was set up well in advance of the day. Our wedding party and friends kept commenting on how calm we were. Just goes to show that we had full trust and confidence in Jackie and White Orchid Weddings to handle the expected...

We are from the mainland but we decided to get married on Maui with our immediate families in attendance. One would think planning a wedding across the Pacific Ocean would be difficult, even for a small wedding, but White Orchid Weddings made me feel like the most relaxed, stressed free, organized and, most importantly, excited bride throughout the entire process of planning a wedding and the wedding day itself. Know that this is rare for a bride to feel that way - but WOW made it happen.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Kendall O. and she is the sweetest soul you could ever get to know. Even though she wasn’t able to attend our actual wedding day, her retired colleague Linda ran the show and she was an angel sent from above. Just absolutely love them both! Leading up to our wedding, we encountered staff who worked at our hotel, at a local luau, at restaurants - they all knew WOW and told us they are the best of the best. Clearly this company has a glowing reputation on the island! I was so happy to hear that!

Everything about this experience was so seamless and fun! They care about you and your loved one, your family, your guests, and your shared vision. You can feel their determination to ensure your day is perfect and it shows through the quality of their work. Our venue was their White Orchid Beach House which is so tastefully decorated and sits on the most unbelievable property. The flowers, the hair styling and makeup, the photography... all vendors coordinated through WOW - were so fun and great to work with. It was our dream day.

I could write a novel so I will just say that I know choosing a wedding coordinator can be overwhelming, especially with all the platforms and reviews out there. But believe me when I say I am overjoyed that WOW was our wedding coordinator and we had the best day of our lives because of them.
